Questions and Answers
on the Bible
Will the man who has lived a
good moral life — yet has not
accepted Christ as Saviour — re
ceive the same punishment as
the murderer or thief?
Let me give you a verse from
the Bible which tells us that the
one whose sin is unbelief and the
murderer both go to the same
place after death.
“But cowards who turn back
from following Me, and those who
are unfaithful to Me, and mur
derers, and those conversing with
demons, and idol worshippers and
all liars — their doom is in the
lake that burns with fire and sul
phur." Revelation 21:8. The
Pharaphrased Epistles.
However, the Bible teaches that
there will be a difference in the
rewards given to each Christian
as they stand before Him to be
judged for their works. Since the
Bible is consistent in all that it
says, it is logical to believe that
punishment — though it is for e
ternity — also will be meted out
according to the life which the
individual lived while here upon
earth.
The Scripture which seems to
teach this view is Luke 12:47, 48
where Jesus is explaining the
parable of the wise steward who
awaits his Master's return from
a long journey.
“And that servant, which knew
his lord’s will, and prepared not

J FALL
Dr. A. E. Tuten
Many times a friend or relative can be noticed
to go down hill in Health. They usually say “Oh,
he has never been the same since he fell from the
hay loft,” or “it may have been the car accident.”
It is often natural that a person will suffer
after a fall, and it behooves everyone to care for
their future Health by having a Chiropractic
Analysis.

himself, neither did according to
his will, shall be beaten with
MANY stripes. But he that knew
not, and did commit things
worthy of stripes shall be beaten
with FEW stripes. For unto whom
soever much is given, of him
shall be much required; and to
whom men have committed much,
of him they will ask the more.”
In other words those who have
heard the plan of salvation again
and again and still have refused
to accept Christ as their Saviour
will be required to stand before
the Lord with whatever pitiful ex
cuses they can muster.
The good man — the morally
upright man — must also stand
before God and as he clutches his
poor rags of self-righteousness
and good works around him, he
will be judged —for unbelief.
Everyone — who has not ac
cepted Christ as Saviour will go
to Hell — not because God sends
them but because they make that
their choice. There is only one
way to escape and that is by be
lieving in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Although it is no doubt true
that there are degrees of punish
ment in Hell, this is not to mini
mize the awfulness of that eternal i
state of being. Hell is separation
from God for all eternity.
Someone says, “Well, I can
get along without God.” Can
you? Day after day the blessings
of God fall upon the good and
evil man alike. Even the unsav
ed sinner does not want to live
in a town or community without
a church or a witness to the liv
ing God.
To live for eternity where there
is no God nor any of the fruits]
which necessarily come from a
belief in God will be the worst
kind of punishment.
We can be sure that on that
day when God judges the unsav
ed according to the light they
have had and the life which they
have lived that it will be done with
the utmost justice. God is a just
God. We can safely leave the fu
ture in His hands for He knows
the most fitting punishment for
every known sin.

Everybody in the Family
Likes to Read Newspapers
Your hometown weekly newspaper is produced for
the entire family ... There’s something in it of interest
to all ages.
Mother likes to read the society columns . . . Dad
may prefer items dealing with politics, government,
business or sports ... The kids will likely find their own
names mentioned in the 4-H Club reports, news of the
FFA, school activities or a birthday party.
The weekly newspaper carries the bride’s wedding
story . . . news of a young man’s achievements at col
lege ... or reports on his service in the armed forces.
The hometown weekly is likely to be a “biography”
of each member of the family from birth until his o-
bituary is written.
That’s why the home newspaper is such a personal
part of the life of each citizen in a community.
It usually does not try to imitate a metropolitan
daily ... but strives constantly to increase its service as
a community product. It’s written for hometown peo
ple.
