Questions and Answers
on the Bible
Will the Believer stand before
the Judgement Seat of Christ?
In II Corinthians 5:10 Paul says
that “we must ALL appear be
fore the judgment seat of Christ;
that every one may receive the
things done in his body, accord
ing to that he hath done, whether
it be good or bad.”
Although every believer must
appear before the Lord, his final
destination or salvation is not in
question. “So there is no condem
nation (or judgement) awaiting
those who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1 Paraphrased Epistles.
The judgement which faces the
believer is not for his sins — they
have been covered by the blood of
the Lord Jesus Christ — but of
his works. It is very possible that
when we stand before Him, we
are going to feel deeply ashamed
of the service which we have to
offer Him. We will be examined
individually and in detail as to
whether our works are deserving
of reward or not.
If our service for Him has been
rendered for any other reason
than for the glory of God then it

will be burned as straw and stub
ble. Only the cup of cold water
offered in His Name — the work
done for His sake will come
through the testing fire and be re
membered by the Lord.
“There is going to come a time
of testing at Christ’s Judgement
Day to see what kind of material
each builder has used. Everyone’s
work will be put through the fire
so that all can see whether or not
it keeps its value, and what was
really accomplished. Then every
workman who has built on the
Foundation with the right mater
ials, and whose work still stands,
will get his pay. But if the house
he has built burns up, he will
have a great loss. He himself will
be saved, but like a man escap
ing through a wall of flames.” I
Corinthians 3:13-15 Paraphrased
Epistles.
Many Christians live in dread
of that day wondering if they
shall be saved or not. What a
comfort to know that this is not
a judgement or trial to decide
our future fate. Our salvation has
been settled before we ever leave
this present world by death.
Either we have accepted Christ as
our Saviour or we have not. If
we have, then our salvation is
complete — we need not wait to
stand before the judgement seat
of Christ to know whether or not
we are saved. We can know it
now.
“He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life^, and shall
not come into condemnation: but
is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24.
What we can not know is how
much of our work will be burn
ed up as dross because our mo
tives were not pure.
Think of it in this way. This
judgment which is YET to take
place will include every believer.
Is it possible that the Apostle
Paul who served his Lord so
faithfully — finally died for His
sake and has been in heaven for
almost 2000 years — will be re
quired to stand in judgment be
fore the Lord even yet? Does God
still have to decide whether he
is to remain in Heaven or is des
tined for Hell?
Os course not. the believer upon
death goes immediately into the
presence of the Lord. There is
no judgment at that time. And
certainly God is not going to per
mit anyone to remain in heaven
for an indefinite period of time
and then when the judgment seat
is set up suddenly send him to
Hell.
Let us make certain that our
sins already have been judged in
the person of Jesus Christ and
there will be no need to fear death
or the coming of the lord.
“And as it is appointed unto
men once to die, but after this
the judgment; So Christ was once
offered to bear the sins of many;
and unto them that look for him
shall he appear the second time
without sin unto salvation.” He
brew 9:27, 28.
LARGE OR SAAALL
A garden can be made to ap
pear smaller or larger than it
really is, according to T. G. Wil
liams, Jr., head of the Exten
sion Service landscape depart
ment. To create the illusion of
more space in a small backyard
garden, use coarse-textured plants
to close and gradually drop back
to fine textured shrubs at the
boundary.
STORING MEATS
The transparent wrapping (from
the supermarket meat case) is
not a moisture and vapor proof
material. Freezing meat in this
wrapping can cause physical
changes which result in loss of
weight and fresh appearance due
to loss of moisture. To maintain
the quality of the meat you buy,
remove the store wrapping and
tray, suggests Miss Nelle Thrash,
Extension home economist - food
preservation. Then package the
meat in a good quality moisture
and vapor proof material before
freezing it.
SUEDE GARMENTS
With some simple home care,
you can lengthen the life of
suede garments. Miss Nancy Gar
rison, Extension Service home
economist - clothing, says light
soil can be removed from such
garments by brushing or rubbing
the skin with gum rubber. The
important thing to remember,
she adds, is to clean suede gar
ments before they become ex
tremely soiled.

medium which puts information in their hands in a retainable form
to be read and digested when they need it and have time for it.
To be of genuine importance to people, newspapers must be
