"What is IGA? We'll endeavor to tell you . . . 'Did you notice that sign — 'IGA Stores' — on the front of the IGA Stores in your town? There's a
great story behind that sign —a live, warm human interest story. "Its' the story of men with the courage and vision to develop an idea; it's a saga
of democracy at its best. It's the story of the preservation of individual opportuntiy and free enterprise in this great land of ours — assurance that
your children and grandchildren will have all the great opportunities accorded to those who went before them." "IGA today stands as a living monument
to the proposition that through cooperation with his fellowman the individual can prosper, raise his family in dignity and comfort, and take his
place as a leader in the community." "IGA unites major units of food distributors — the independent retailers, the independent wholesalers, the
manufacturer and the farmer. They work closely together in a well-knit, smoothly running organization with just one purpose in mind — to bring you
better foods at lower prices. Your IGA grocer brings you lower prices because he and his IGA wholesale supply depot operate with greater
efficiency, at a lower cost of doing business."
GOLDEN

celebrate their "GRAND OPENING."
IGA are the initials of the Independent Grocers' Alliance, second largest distributor of food in the United States. Founded fowty years ago with
seventy-five members the organization now numbers over 5500 stores from coast-to-coast and Canada.
