1: Assist Local Officials?
1. Ask any of your County Officials, if our present
State Senator has ever made a trip to Atlanta to assist
them in any of their endeavors to acquire new roads
ar any state service for your county. Ask if he has
even shown the courtesy of offering his services to
any local project.
2:Effective Legislator?
2. Ask any of the other State Senators, just how ef
fective our present State Senator is in getting legis
lation passed. Find out if your present State Senator
is not a joking matter in the State Capital.
3: Where Was Senator?
3. Ask your present State Senator where he was when
the appropriations bill was brought to the floor that
affected the taxpayers pocketbook to the tune of over
five hundred million dollars. Is this representing
the people?
4: Salary Increases?
4. Ask your present State Senator if he did not pro
mise he would not vote for any tax increases or sal
ary raises. Then check the record and see if some
of the State Officials in his own district has received
salary increases to over twenty thousand dollars a
year. Has not your fishing and hunting license been
doubled? Where was he when this was taking place?
5: Sends Messages?
5. Do you want a man in public office who spends
most of the time in writing congratulatory messages
to his constituents whenever they get some recog
nition.
6: Highway Charges?
6. Ask yourself this: "Can a Senator who has made
unproven and abusive accusations against our State
Highway Officials ever expect to help secure one
thin dime of highway work in any county in the dis
trict?"

on tobacco, of which I served as chairman, investi
