I July 1, 1967 through June 30, 1968 I
The anticipated budget for the Brantley County Board of Education
for the term 1967-68 is listed below. The Charge Back (local money
required by law in addition to state money to finance county systems),
is lower for the coming year than last, $93,863.42 1966-67; $87,542.52-
1967-68. However, Brantley Co., along with more than half the other
Georgia systems in years prior to the coming term, has received what
the State Department called Contingent and Hardship Fund from
which Brantley County received in 1966-67, $40,388.00. This fund has
been taken from the State budget and means that this amount added to
local effort is Brauntley County’s part to add to state funds to finance
schools. This totals $127,930.52 in local taxes. The Board is asking for
$121,000.00 with the hopes it can operate without Jeopardizing educa
tion for Brantley County children.
