Mr. Hatch commented fur
ther that the nuclear plant is
part of a continuing expan
sion program by the company
to assure abundant low-cost
power for the entire state.
He also noted that Georgia
Power’s proposed plant is in
keeping with the current
trend toward the use of nu
clear energy as fuel for elec
tric generating stations in
areas where the delivered cost
of other fuels is relatively
high.
