Funds may be advanced for such items as seed, feed, fer tilizer, fuel, herbicides, insec ticides, labor, machinery re pair, payment of unsecured operating bills, payment of depreciation on debts on farm .machinery and equip ment, other customary farm operating expenses, family living expen ses, farm machinery for re placement of similar items which are worn out and must be replaced, and for other purposes to enable an appli cant to continue his opera tion. Application can be made at Farmers Home Administra tion Office, 201 State Street, Waycross, Georgia. To be eli gible, an applicant must be a farmer who is unable to obtain credit from other sources. Uncontested City Election Held Dec. 3rd All candidates on the ballot in the Blackshear city elec tion Wednesday, Dec. 3, were elected without opposition to the three aldermanic Posts they sought. Kenneth Brumbeloe with 104 votes, Dr. L. C. Durrence with 103 and D. Cameron O’Neal with 105 were the successful candidates. Because the races were un contested, there was a light turnout of only 107 votes firm a registration list of 1,- 115. Junior F. Platt Is Promoted in Army Fort Benning, Georgia — Junior F. Platt h^s been pro moted to grade E-2 on grad uation from basic combat training. Private Platt was assigned to Company D. 10th Battalion, Ist Brigade, United States Army Training Center, Infantry. The promotion was awarded two months earlier than us ual, under an Army policy providing incentive for out standing trainees.
