FRYER POUND 29* Local Pulpwood Producer Reports Theft Mr. Franklin Gibson, a local pulpwood producer, reported to the Sheriff’s Department that one of his pulpwood trucks and trailer that was loaded with wood was stolen during the night of June 4. According to Gibson, the truck was started in some way by the thieves and driven down a dirt road until it was stuck in the mud. In attempt ing to disconnect the trailer and un-stick the truck, exten . sive damage was done to the equipment. Gibson stated that he has stayed in the i woods at night on many ocas sions to prevent stealing or • pilfering. He added that the margin of profit for most pro ducers is so small that thieves or presons pilfering the equip ment may put the small pro ducer out of business.
