create liability, expressed or

the undersigned at Atlanta,
and at the Division Office in

be supplied by the undersign

payment, in advance, ,of $5.00
for each proposal issued.
When the proposal is submit
ted, it must be accompanied by
a proposal guaranty in the
form of a certified check, cash

States Bonds, or other accep
table security in the amount
indicated, and must be plainly
marker “Proposal for Road
Construction,” County and
Number, and show the time of
opening as advertised. Check
of the low bidder will be cash
ed and alt other checks will be
returned as soon as the con
tract is awarded, unless it is
deemed advisable by the State
Highway Department to hold
one or more checks. If an un
usual condition arises, the
State Highway Department re
serves the right to cash all
checks. Bidders Bond will not
be accepted. Bond will be re
quired of the successful bid
der as required by law.
Contracts will not be a
warded to contractors who
have not been placed on the
list of qualified Contractors
prior to the date of award. No
proposal will be issued to any
bidder later than 9A. M. of
the date of opening bids.
All bids .must show totals
for each item and total a
mount of bid. Right is reserved
in the undersigned to delay
the award of the contract for
a period not to exceed thirty
(30) days from the date of o
pening bids, during which
period bids shall remain open
and not subject to withdraw
al. Right is also reserved in
the undersigned to reject any
and all bids and to waive all
formalities.
Upon compliance with the
requirements of the Standard
Specifications, payment for
work done shall be made in
accordance with the provisions
of the Standard Specifications.
On projects involving Feder
al Funds the minimum wages
to be paid shall be the amounts
set out in the Labor Provisions
included in the Proposal. The
attention of bidders is direct
ed to the Special Provisions
covering employment of labor,
methods of construction, and
subletting or assigning the
I contract. On such projects, the
State Highway Department, in
accordance with the provision
of Title VI of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964 (78Sta. 252) and
the Regulations of the Depart
ment of Commerce (15 C.F.R.,
Part 8), issued pursant to such
Act, hereby notifies all bidders
that it will affirmatively in
sure that the contract entered
into pursant to this advertise
ment will be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder
without discrimination on the
ground of race, color, or na
tional origin.
