Make the
Great Escape.
Switch to a
flameless electric heat pump
Ducks escape the heat with a splash and a dive. Escape
the cold beneath soft down. And they love the rain
because they don’t get wet.
Escaping the weather is enjoyable for people, too —
with an electric heat pump. Just pick the temperature
you like best and set the thermostat. Automatically, the
heat pump maintains that temperature, winter or summer,
rain or shine. The heat pump also filters the air, and
dehumidifies as needed. To make your home a tight,
clean roost year ’round.
And maintenance is carefree. For just a small monthly
charge you can get our heat pump service plan which
provides all parts and all labor for 10 full years.
Your comfort’s not built-in. So build it in. With a
flameless electric heat pump.

.Bl
Nahunta, Ga. — The recent
heavy rains have not perman
ently lessened the forest fire
danger in Brantley County,
Ranger Eber Rhoden of the
Brantley County forestry unit
said this week.
“A few days of sunny,
windy weather could dry out
the forests enough to revive
the fire danger to a critical
point,” Ranger Rhoden point
ed out.
“Therefore, Brantley Coun
ty residents should continue
to exercise the utmost cau
tion in handling outdoor fires.
Even though the heavy rain
fall has kept forest fire dam
age to a minimum, we should
not get complacent,” the ran
ger emphasized.
GRADED TREES
That’s right folks, Christ
mas trees are now being qual
ity-graded. Just like meat,
eggs and other commodities.
Under a new system started
by the U. S. Department of
Agriculture, growers are urg
ed to tag each tree with its
grade and height as well as
the name and address of the
producer. Grades are U. S.
Premium, U. S. Choice and
U. S. Standard.
IS IT FRESH?
To determine if a Christ
mas tree is fresh, check the
needles to see if they are resil
ient, not brittle when you
bend them. Few needles:
should fall off when you
bump the base of the trunk !
on the ground. The stump j
should be sticky with sap.

Ranger Rhoden added.
“Many of our worst fires re
