Patterson, Ga.—Sgt. Jimmy
Ray Johnson, 24, of the 575th
Engineering Battalion, Fort
Stewart died late Wednesday
night in Waynesville.
A native of Wayne County,
he had lived most of his life
in Pierce County. A son of
Mr. and Mrs. Hansford John
son of Patterson, he has beer,
stationed at Fort Stewart for
the past year. Prior to being
stationed at Fort Stewart, Ik
had been stationed in Germa
ny. He was a member of the
Baptist Church.
Survivors, besides his par
ents, are his wife, the former
Nora Fay Johns; two sons,
Jeffery and Patrick Johnson;
four sisters, Mrs. Linnie Ruth
Strickland of Jacksonville,
Mrs. Louise Register of Way
cross, Miss Kate Johnson and
Miss Annie Bell Johnson, both
of Patterson; two half-sisters,
Mrs. Mildred Davis and Mrs.
Irene Mulkey, both of Patter
son; seven brothers, Earl of
Blackshear, Alvin and Clyde,
both of Patterson, Ephriam
of Jacksonville, Carl of Fern
andina Beach, Harry of Way
cross and Lee stationed with
the Air Force is Arizona.
Services for Sgt. Johnson
were held at 2:00 o’clock Fri
day afternoon from the grave
side in the New Home Ceme
tery near Patterson.
Officiating were Rev. Owen
Rozier and Rev. Bobby Brink
ley.
Pallbearers were Billy Tay
lor, Billy Johnson, Joe John
son, Royce Mobley, Barney
Crosby and Ray Gill.
