Question &
Answer Corner
Q — Shortly after I was sep
erated from service I con
verted my GI insurance poli
cy, and have kept it in force.
May I borrow on this policy?
A— Yes. Your policy des
cribes the loan features. If
you wish exact figures, you
should contact the VA office'
to which you send your in- i
surance premiums. They will i
explain your policy’s loan
provisions, tell you the a
mount available, and provide
an application form. The in-'
terest charge on policy loans
was raised to five per cent ear- '
lier this year.
Q — My son w^s lost at s"”
during World War 11. I
would like to have a me
morial marker to put in a
private cemetery. Will the Ar- '
mv furnish one?
A— Yes. Application forms j
so" m°moria'l markers are a-1
vailable at all VA offices, and |
chnnid be mailed to the Office ’
of the Chief Sunnnrt Service '
Department of the Army, |
Washington, D. C.
O — Do°s “oaid-up” insur
pa^r dividends?
A— Yes. However when a
oohev is surrendered for re
duced naid-un insurance the
dividends will be based on |
the reduced amount. When |
limited payment pol
lie i e s such as 20-
payment-life have all pre
miums paid up, they continue
to receive dividends.

SOYBEAN OUTLOOK
The soybean outlook is
taking a new turn. For years
production was increasing fas
ter than utilization. That was
true until a year ago. Since
then soybean use has been
climbing faster than produc
tion. So the supply is down.
Current indications are that
the soybean carryover next
September 1 will be the equi
valent of about a half month’s
requirements for crushing and
exports. This would be the
smallest carryover since Sep
tember 1, 1966.
