In last weeks action in the Hoboken Spring Classic, the Hoboken Boys and Girls were victorious in sweeping a dou ble trophy in the final games. Hoboken led by Early Wilker son and Roger Lee swept ov. er Blackshear in the opening round of action of the boys tourney, taking a 53-25 vic tory to place them in the fin als against Southwood of Way cross. Hoboken’s girls led by Felica Thomas and Tammy Griffins 4 points, took their first game of the year and clinched a trophy in elimina ting Southwoods girls 11-7 on Tuesday. In the championship of the boys final action the Hoboken Trojans got things in gear and rolled to a 36-21 sweep for the winners trophy. Led by Ronald Altmens 11 and Robert Byrds 15 the Trojans took command from the start and held on. J. Lane had 13 for the losers. This week the Final Tourney finds the Hoboken Invitational opening Monday with Hoboken eliminating Southwood in pro bably the best game of the ye ar as the Trojans rolled SO -25 over much improved South, wood of Waycross team. Led by Ronald Altmans 20 points and Early Wilkersons 10, fol lowed by Robert Bryd and Ha. zel Cobbs 8 the Trojans took command early and led at the half 26-11 going to the end 50- 25. In the finals of the midget competition the Southwood mid gets took a heartbreaking 20- 19 championship game from Hoboken, Monday afternoon. Hoboken had several attempts in the closing seconfs but just couldn’t hit a basket.
