The most solemn words ever spoken by
any man, "I never knew you, " were spoken
by the man we all most need as a friend.
Oh, how we need to know Him. We need to
know Him by word and deed. Jesus once
said, "Well done." He did not say, "Well
said," or well planned. He said, "well
done. " The emphasis is upon doing in the
kingdom of God. Os course, one has to be
something before he enters the kingdom of
God. He has to be born again. Now, we are
not saved by good works, but good works
reveal that we have been saved. A Christ
ian is busy doing Christian deeds. During a
bitter debate in a cabinet meeting, presid
ent Lincoln stopped and asked what seemed
to be a stupid question: "How many legs
would a lamb have if you say that the tail is
a leg, " replied one of the cabinet members,
"then the lamb would have five legs. "No, "
explained Lincoln, "just to say that the tail
is a leg doesn't makeit one. " To say that
one is a Christian is not enough. He should
be doing something.
We should never deceive ourselves into
thinking we are Christians when we are not
We deceive ourselves when we are merely
hearers of the word and not doers (James
1:22). In the parable of the ten virgins, our
Lord indicated that exactly ha If of them were
self-deceived in thinking that they were
ready for the bridegroom (Mathew 25).
There willbe a day of reckoning. This, of
course, is the Judgement day. Jesus will
reveal just why we have done what we have
done. He will reveal our motives. Jesus
indicates that there are those who profess
to be doing things in His name when really
they are not. But, then He will reveal the
why of it all. Jesus said, "I, " the son of
God is speaking; "Never, " no relationship
with Christ ever existed: you've never known
Him; "Knew, " you can know a lot about
Jesus, but the important thing is for Him to
know you; "You," salvation is personal.
You must be born again, or Jesus will one
day say, "I never knew you. "

NAHUNTA-- Lloyd Wainright
55, a retired farmer, died May
1, in the Veterans Hospital in
Lake City, Fla., following a
long illness.
A Native and life • long
residence of Brantley County,
he was a son of the late Jesse
Wainright and Rozella Knox
Wainright.
He attended the Baptist
Church and was a Veteran of
World War 11.
Survivors include his Wife
Mrs. Louise Byrd Wain right,
Nahunta; three daughters, Mrs.
Gerald Drew, Brunswick, Miss
Kay Wainright and Miss Ruth
Wainright, both of Nahunta; four
sons, Cordell Wainright, Ho
boken, Derrell Wainright,

Thursday May 4, at 4:00 P.M,
at the Riverside Baptist Church
with the Reverends E.J, Dixon
and Pete J. Thrift officiating.
Burial will follow in the New
Hope Cemetery in Hickox.
