unty FFA Chapter elected their
Sweetheart for the school year
1972 - 73 recently and chose
Miss Diane Shuman.
Miss Shuman was elected
from a field of several young
ladies that were both beauti
ful and talented. She will act
as an ex-officio officer of tire
club and assist the other off
icers at official functions. She
will represent the Chapter in
the Miss Brantley County High

Miss Shuman is an outstand
ing Senior and is active in
FHA, Annual Staff, 4-H Club,
Pine Cone and a Senior Sup
erlative. She enjoys horse
back riding, skiing, motorcycle
riding, and several other
sports.
Miss Shuman is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shu
man of Hoboken.
Dates Announced
Open seasons for hunting
waterfowl in Georgia have been
announced by Joe D. Tanner,
Commissioner of the Georgia
Department of Natural Resour,
ces, in accordance with regu
lations adopted by the Georgia
Game and Fish commission.
For hunting ducks the open
season is December 2, 1972
through January 20, 1973. Lim
its on ducks is five daily with
a possession limit of 10. Lim
its on ducks are one black duck
daily and two in possession,
four mallards dally and eight
in possession, and two wood
ducks daily and four in poss
ession.
There is no open season on
canvasback and redhead ducks,
brant and geese.

Club Meeting
The Hickox Extension Home
makers Club met Wednesday,
November 15, at the home of
Mrs. Jimmy Thomas.
Discussion was on the fair
booths and plans were made for
the 4-H banquet. The December
program will be on Decoupage
and is to be a county-wide meet
ing.
The importance of younger
people, especially men, to be
gin a hobby they enjoy, then
develop this hobby during mid
die age and keeping it for real
enjoyment after retirement was
stressed by Mrs. Virginia Raul
erson in her introduction to
the demonstration on Stuffed
Pictures.

limit on coots is 15 daily and
20 in possession.

mergansers is December 2,
1972 through January 20, 1973.
Bag limit is 5 daily and 10
in possession, of which not
more than 1 daily and 2 in
possession may be hooded mer
gansers.
All shooting hours are from
1/2 hour before sunrise to sun
set daily.
For hunting waterfowl, all
persons 16 years of age or
older must have a migratory
bird stamp as well as a valid
hunting license.

Fellowship met at the Nahunta
United Methodist Church Mon
day night the 20th of Novem
ber.
About 75 young people from
the western half of the Way
cross district attended the busi
ness meeting which was follow
ed by a program and refresh
ments.
