entered the Ford business
in the fall of 1959 after re
ceiving a B. A. degree from
the University of Georgia, in
Athens. His first position was
bookkeeper.

ployes be rewarded with a fine

work,” he added.
Besides a “backbone” for
the company, Mr. Waters Jr.
has become known for his con
tributions to the civic and re
ligious aspects ofßlackshear.
He is a deacon at First
Baptist Church and teaches
the 10 and 11-year-old boys
in Sunday School.
The active citizen serves
as president of Blackshear
Rotary Club, a member of
Blackshear - Pierce County
Chamber of Commerce and
enjoys membership in the
Lakeview Golf and Country
Club.
In leisure hours. Mr. Waters
Jr. enjoys family outings,
golf, hunting and fishing.
Besides his studies at the
University, he was graduated
in 1953 from Blackshear High
School and in 1955 from Geor
gia Military College.
Mr. Waters says he’s the
proud father of three child
ren, Stephanie, 11, Melanie,
10 and Stevie, 9.
Mrs. Waters is the former
Marilyn Clough, a Blackshear
native and graduate of the
University of Georgia with a
degree in elementrary edu
cation.
Mrs. Waters is a home
maker now after teaching
several years.
The Waters’ home on Eliza
beth Street is a lovely example
of the Waters’ pride in their
hometown and their friends
and relatives.
