PAGE 3 - THURSDAY, JANUARY 17, 2013 Crawford Masonic Lodge #689 hosted a free BBQ dinner for the public followed by a presentation from Brother Wesley Jones, a member of Fickling Lodge #129 and pastor of Crowells Church. Brother Jones recently returned from a Pilgrimage in the Holy Land and was gracious enough to share his experiences with them. Later that evening the guests were invited to stay for an open installation ceremony to install the officers of Crawford Lodge for the ensuing year. The installing officer for the evening was Brother Troy S. Cook, Past Master of Lexington Lodge #158 and now a member of Crawford Lodge. Brother Cook had the privilege of installing his father-in-Law, J.D. Argo, Sr., as Worshipful Master of the Lodge. The other officers that were installed include: Charlie Westberry, Rudy Cannon, Keith Nelson, Tony Pupo, Eugene Mason, Ray Graham and Fred Childers. Also, Brother Jackie Cooper filled in as Chaplin in the absence of their regular Chaplin, Brother Marvin Rowell. Crawford Lodge #689 wishes to thank all the guests for their attendance and sincerely hopes that everyone enjoyed the evening. Crawford Lodge would also like to extend a special thanks to Sheriff Lewis Walker and Chief of Police, Benny Thomas for their attendance and support and thank you to Brother Wesley for his presentation. Cub Scout Pack 264 Gives Back To The Community On Saturday December 15 th , 2012, Cub Scout Pack 264 performed a cheerful day of service by helping a Crawford County citizen, Ms. Peggy Jennings, with winter yard cleanup. Ms. Jennings lost her husband, Hugh Jennings, on Sunday November 25 th , and these Scouts hearing this want ed to help this family in their time of need. A Scout is challenged to put others first, possibly at odds with his own needs. This being helpful is an outward demon stration of the inner honor being developed in a Scout. Doing a Daily Good Turn takes real effort to search for need and then commitment to fulfill that need. The adult leaders with the Pack thrive to teach these young Scouts that, ”A Scout is helpful. These young boys along with their leaders and parents went above and beyond! And that is what Scouting, here in Crawford County, and all over the world, is all about.
