Page 2 Thursday, January 24,2013 THE GEORGIA POST &THE BYRON BUZZ Central GA Health Implements New Visitation Policy Due To Flu With influenza circulating in the community and pri marily affecting young peo ple, Central Georgia Health System (CGHS) has set up a first line of defense. CGHS has implemented a youth vis itation policy for the protec tion of patients, visitors and hospital staff Effective immediately, children must be age 12 or older in order to visit The Medical Center of Central Georgia, The Medical Center of Peach County and Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hos pital. ’’The health of our patients and the community are the highest concern of Central Georgia Health System. Our policies and actions are de signed to protect those at greatest risk during the flu season,” said Dr. Delanor Doyle, Chief Medical Infor mation Officer for The Medi cal Center of Central Geor gia. Administrators at CGHS based the decision to restrict visitation on information from the Centers of Dis ease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the prevalence of influenza in the Central Georgia region at this time. Individuals with flu-like symptoms and those who have recently had the flu are encouraged to remain at home and stay away from public areas, includ ing school, work, theaters or other areas where people are in close proximity. Anyone with symptoms of a cold, or others with im munocompromised health status, are encouraged not to visit the hospital for their own protection as well as that of seriously ill patients. “We appreciate the com munity’s understanding and cooperation with these efforts to minimize exposure during this active flu season,” said Dr. Doyle. •• l If At COMPLEX His Acme 215 Persons St. = Fort Valley, Ga. Wacky Wednesday every first Wed. of the the month for 4-7 years Peach County High’s JROTC To Conduct Annual Inspection Peach County High School Navy JROTC Unit will be conducting its Annual Area Manager’s Inspection (AMI) on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Although an all day event for the cadets, the cere monial phase of the AMI will be conducted at 10:00 AM in the stadium (weather permit ting) or in the gymnasium (in case of inclement weather). The day’s events include a personnel inspection by the NJROTC Area 12 Manager, an inspection of cadet re cords, offices, NJROTC pro gram administration, and a Pass-in-Review parade dur ing the aforementioned cer emonial phase. Only its third year, ASL, taught by Mrs. Jennifer Kane MArtin, has introduced a new culture to the school population as well as new goals and career plans for graduates. Students have come to appreciate and improve in this means of communication, making Peach County students even more cultured and open minded. The final group project of the year involved a musical presentation with each group performing an approved song before teachers, parents, students, staff and administrators, done in full sign language.
