Schools
Many in the community
supported a school start
date in September after last
year’s success with school
being delayed until after La
bor Day due to construction
issues. However, the Peach
County Board of Education
voted for an August 12th
start date this year.
The vote was unanimous
with the August start date
mainly to allow schools time
to offer end of course tests
before winter break.
School officials had
sought feedback last month
on whether to start in August
or September. According
to the survey 57% wanted
school to begin in Septem
ber.
