Here they are posing as cherry blossoms at the festival. The group had a great time! Heather Leigh Land is proud to announce the birth of her son Brycen Lee Land, born on April 1, 2013. He weighed 7 lbs., 7 oz. and was 19 inches long. He is wel comed home by his big brother and big sister, Brenden and Kaylah. Brycen is the eighth grandchild of Aubrey and Marie Smith of Lizella. He is the fifth grand child of Denise and Gary Land, Jr. of Byron. Crawford County Kindergarten Teacher Achieves Excellence In Agriculture In Her Classroom Known at the Crawford County Eagle’s Nest for her ’’Farm Fridays,” Kin dergarten Teacher Andrea Seagraves has strived to provide the best possible education for her students, especially in agriculture. In December, she was awarded the 2012 Geor gia Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Educa tor Award and stirred up the interest of others through out the state. In January, Ed Grisamore of the Macon Telegraph in terviewed Seagraves about her classroom teachings. His article on her ran in the Telegraph’s January 11th edition. In Feburary, 2013, Sea graves was notified that she was one of eight teach ers throughout the United states to receive the White- Reinhardt Scholarship to attend the 2013 National Agriculture in the Class room Conference being held in Minneapolis, MN in June, 2013. OnMarch 16th, Seagraves and her co-teacher, Amy Hill conducted a workshop/ presentation highlighting her popular ’’Farm Fri days,” at the Georgia Farm Bureau State Educational Leadership Conference for 200 attendees. In the beginning of April, 2013, she received word that she is one of five teach ers receiving the 2013 Na tional Excellence in Teach ing About Agriculture Award.
