The Byron Area Historical Society, along with By
ron Better Hometown, Byron CVB And the City of
Byron presented a Memorial Day Program Monday.
Keynote Speaker was Chief Master Sergeant James
G. Muncy who noted losing someone was a ’’grief
that never goes away”. He also said that those in the
service of their country believe that the cost is worth
it. Wayne Lettice, Chief Master Sergeant, USAF
Retired was the emcee and the PCHS US Navy
JR. ROTC (above) posted the colors. The Heart
of Georgia Barbershop Chorus sang the National
Anthem. Darrel Lettice, Master Sergeant USAF Re
serve read an inspiring story and Charlie Short, Lt.
Col. USAF Retired, recognized those killed in wars.
Sgt. Paul Carreker, City of Byron, sang God Bless
the USA followed by recognition of those serving or
who have served. As the colors were retired, Walter
Peavy played ’’Taps”.

Xtreme Monster Madness Truck & Motorcycle
Show, Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. Gates
open at 5:30, show starts at 7:00 p.m. at historic
Middle Georgia Raceway in Byron on Friday.
Saturday shows are at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $20

backflips in the Iron Outlaw Monster Truck. Be
sure to bring the family for a ride in the Extreme
Team Monster Truck on a car crushing experience
and much more. If you love monster trucks you do
not want to miss this event. Fun for the whole family
