The bride is the grand daughter of Ms. Sandra O’Neal and the late William O’Neal of Roberta, Georgia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mclnvale of Reyn olds, Georgia. She is a 2009 graduate of Taylor County High School and is pursu ing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Gordon State College in Bamesville, Georgia. The groom is the grand son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Young of Forsyth, Georgia and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Tarver Smith of Haddock, Georgia. He is a 1995 gradu ate of Stratford Academy and received his Bachelors of Science in Forestry from Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He is a Procurement Forester for C M Wood Products, Inc and owner of Kip Smith Forest Services, LLC. The wedding is planned for October 12, 2013 at T&L Ranch in Butler, Georgia. CCHS Cheerleaders attend champ The Crawford County High School Varsity Cheerleaders attended summer camp, July 21-24, at Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. The camp was organized by the Universal Cheerleading Associa tion (UCA). Some components learned during the program were: daily competitions and evaluations against other cheer squads, safety skills, mentoring, developing an action plan for the upcoming school year, foster ing leadership skills, and team building. The team was honored to have five CCHS cheerleaders nominated for All American Cheerleaders: TaShawna Ap- plings, Danielle Jones, Courtney Griffitts, Regina McCoy and Lexus Whidby. These young ladies competed against many cheerleaders from several states. They were scored on their jump, cheer and dance routine. TaShawna Applings, Danielle jones and Lexus Whidby were the outstanding winners from Crawford County. These young ladies received a Camp Star Pin, All American Medallion, and the opportunity to perform at a game in London. Emily McWilliams also received the Pin it Forward Award. CCHS Cheerleaders performed extremely well each evening and received many awards for their hard work. The team received: 3 Superior Team Ribbons, Spirit Stick, 1st Place Superior Trophy, 3rd Place Trophies(3), The Cool- SCHOOL Front Front cuts should start at the top and mentioned she had looked at how much system personnel are paid. Even though the system is going to 160 days the calen dar will stay pretty much the same with 20 minutes cut out of each day. The cuts will be taken from the amount of time in between classes and lunch break. Days have been added for training and profes sional learning. All holidays are the same and the last day of school will be Wednesday, May 21,2013. Two teacher days have been added, Sep tember 26 and 27th, which will be 169 days for the teach ers. Pre-K and Kindergarden drop off time has changed to 7:30 a.m. Pick up time will be 3:15 for car riders. The full details along with the updated school calendar will be pub lished in the weeks to come. Custodial bids were dis cussed. They have received 9 bids. Bids range from $325,000 - $350,000 cost based on 160 days and 12 months. No decision has been made yet. When asked what determines a needs basis and who determines this needs basis Harris redponfrf if a person is disabled or homeless and is a student then the parent should call the school to see about them getting an educa tion. Harris spoke about CLIP (Comprehensive Local Educational Agency Improve ment Plan). Title II-A, which is Improving Teacher Quality. There is an “Educational Ac ronyms” handout for parents in the community which explains school system lingo. If interested in the handout, contact your school. DEVELOPMENT. Front Front Paul Chapman (County Commissioner) suggested may not be able to do it because it is county prop erty. Mrs. Carroll told Webb, Jackson would set it up for him. “We will work together and go from there,” she said. Jackson spoke to the board about a class offered in November that was coming to Macon and she reserved four places. Two would be filled by Carroll and her self. She needed two more people so asked if anyone else was interested. She also reminded the board about the trip to the Resource Cen ter coming up on August 28, 2013.
