PAGE 3-THURSDAY, AUGUST 22,2013 Crawford County Family Connection first collaborative “Back-to-School” Bash makes a difference On Friday, August 9, 2013 from 4-7:00 PM, Crawford County Family Connec tion Collaborative held their first “Back-to-School” Bash. Residents of Roberta/Craw ford County were lined up around the building, waiting excitingly to receive school supplies an hour before the event was to start. Thirty- four partners who included, agencies, businesses, faith- based, and community resi dents who understood that collaboration means to work together, especially in joint intellectual effort provided 325 students with school supplies. Door prizes for stu dents and parents were made possible by North Central Health District Adolescent Health & Youth Develop ment and after receiving the school supplies, students and parents were able to enjoy free hot dogs, chips, and so das donated by Elaine Gil- lispie of Congressman San ford Bishop Office, Central Georgia Technical College, and Mrs. Lisa Lee, Adult Lit eracy Instructor/Site Man ager, Tawanna Harris, the co ordinator hopes that this can be an annual event and would like to thank all of the partners and volunteers that made this event possible: American Red Cross, Cen tral Georgia Technical Col lege (CGTC), CGTC Adult Literacy Program, CGTC Transition program, Com missioner Bobby Blassin- game, Congressman Sanford Bishop Office, Crawford Co.
