"Bombs, Boots, and Bungles" Voices with perfect solu tions to the Syrian Crisis are pouring in—everything from making that sec tion of the world a ’’huge parking lot, —to bringing their citizens to America, and place them on food stamps—to striking all parties— to retiring our forces to the beltway. Such projections brings a chuckle, a sneer, or moments of anger! If this dilemma was not The’G’ Factor Daniel W. Gatlyn birthing a viable debate, all speculations would (indeed) be pathetically hilarious. By now, those both in and out of government, along with the parasitic groups grasping for ’’coin and clout”, would do well to remember, that to hypothetically depict an ’’eventual outcome”, is as fool ish as a trans-ocean voyage with an inner tube. There is really no way of knowing what reactions are in store—for third world, in any direction, is totally unpredictable. They will side with the group who ’’holds the most ’’marbles or biscuits”, sway toward an immediate safety net, make ridiculous pledges or promis es—and change their minds at the ’’rising of each sun”. (But who can fault them, for their lives are on the line most every day!) Our own leadership holds similar problems. To be sure, when foreign leaders decide to choose chemical (or biological/nuclear) weapons —we are entering ” no mans land”, for such em barkation is barbarian and animalistic! But to specifically choose retaliation for such, may well infer that other weapons are summarily justified. While various elements do produce unbelievable suffering and demise—let’s face it, there is no pleasant way to die! And there is no pleasant way to wage war!! Bombs, bullets, explosives all bring about unconscionable results. For American leadership to inscribe documents with ”no boots on the ground”— -is a waste of time, for over and over we have exceeded those limits—and we will rehearse those moments in a ’’heartbeat”. Once a strike is made, ” restrictions are lifted”, and you can be sure that opposing forces will react with vengeance. In battle, all bets are off—and warriors on all sectors then concentrate on survival and victory. That is not to say a solid response to chemical use should not be made—but Americans should be extremely aware, that we are not ’’playing tag”! The equation is an exceptionally complicated affair—and just about anything can happen. Global bullies and brawls breed caustic conditions. Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other bordering coun tries all have an agenda, and goal! Seldom do their goals and aspirations correspond with each other—and so has it been since ’’the Garden”. Obviously, there are moral responsibilities to embrace, protect, and support the ’’just cause”—but who can make the authentic call on such val ues.
