THURSDAY; SEPTEMBER 19, 2013 THE GEORGIA POST 5 I won't complain? I’ve had some good days, I’ve had some bad days, I’ve had some hills to climb, I’ve had some weary days and some sleepless night. But when I look around and think things over, all of my good days outweigh my bad days and I won’t complain. God works out all things for our good (Romans 8:28). This does not mean all that happens to us is good. Evil is still present in this world but God is able to turn it around for our good. There’s no need to complain when facing problems. You may feel like giving up in despair. We all have been there at some point. When you feel let down by life, you should re member we still have hope. That hope is Jesus Christ. He is all the hope we need because He promises to be a shield to protect us. When we focus our thoughts on Him, He restores our confidence. It is easier to sleep well when we accept with full assurance that God is in control of circumstances. If you are lying awake at night worrying about circumstanc es you can’t change, pour out your heart to God. He will answer our prayer when ou cry out to Him. Sometimes we think God will not hear us ecause we have fallen short. But God has orgiven us and He will isten to us. God wants us to stop complaining about anything. He wants us to thank him for His goodness, because when the praises goes up; the bless ing comes down. This is a true fact. God loves hearing us thanking God works outmm. Put Him first; the joy of all things for our good (Romans 8:28). the Lord is our strength, and instead of com plaining about what you don’t have, begin to praise and wor ship Him for His goodness. Let us serve the Lord with gladness and bless His Holy Name; and by doing this, you can be at your best, even when you feel the worst. Be blessed! UGA President denied admission to Sanford Stadium Although I have attend ed UGA football games since 1965,1 never expected to witness the univer sity president being denied admission to the playing field at Sanford Stadium. It occurred during the time that President Michael Adams failed to extend hired a helper for Roberts, a young man with a brash attitude. His duty was to let no one on the football field unless he presented an offi cial pass. Well, I was standing there before a football game talking to Talmadge Roberts when President Ad ams walked up to gain admittance. The young gy to make the point that no one will be admitted to heaven without the prop er pass. According to the New Testament, that pass depends on one’s “belief.” John 3:16, called the gospel in min- embraces a totally different mindset. To provide a little background, the north gate to the football field was manned by Talmadge Roberts, a great Bulldog who came there with Coach Dooley and left with Dooley, a period spanning 40 years. Adams didn’t have a pass, so the young man wouldn’t let him through the gate. Adams said, “I am president of the University of Georgia.” The young man responded, “I don’t care who you are. If you don’t have a pass, you can’t get on the field.” In a huff, Adams left and came back with someone who would vouch for him being the UGA president. The young man still wouldn’t let Adams enter.
