COMMERCE once again is spon
soring a special social event as a
primary fund raising activity. It will
be an Auction Party in the fall to be
held on Saturday, October 19,
2013, at 6:00 p.m. at Camp Martha
Johnston Girl Scout Camp on Girl
Scout Road in Crawford County.
The cost for this Auction Event will
be $25 per person for non-mem
bers and $20 for Chamber
Members and spouses. There will
be heavy hors d’oeuvres and bev
erages, as well as the opportunity
to bid on exceptional items. To

The 19th Annual Beaver Creek
Festival and Duck Race will be
held Saturday October 26, from 9
to 5 in the Charlie Jackson Unity
Park in Historic Downtown
Montezuma. Vendor booths are
available for $30 or for $40 with
electricity. Applications are available
by emailing dda@montezuma-ga.
org and may also be picked up
from the Montezuma City Hall. The
festival theme is a Celebration of
the 175th Anniversary of the
Founding of Macon County,
Georgia.
The American Legion, Post 230
meetings have been chaned to
quarterly: second Thursday, instead
of the third. There will be no meet
ings in Sepember and October.

November 14, 2013, 7 p.m. at

Crawford County HS FFA will be
hosting its ANNUAL FALL FRUIT
SALE.They will be selling Florida
Indian River Groves fruit and will
have a selection of Navel Oranges,
Ruby Red Grapefruit, Hamlin
(juice) Oranges and Tangelos.
There will also be a mixed carton
available with Navel Oranges and
Ruby Red Grapefruit. Fruit will be
sold in 10 lb., 20 lb. and 40 lb. car
tons. Prices will be $18 for 10 lbs.;
$22 for 20 lbs. and $30 for 40 lbs.
Sale now until October 25th. Will
be delivered to CCHS week of
November 18-22. Payment must
be made prior to ordering the fruit.
The Roberta Chapter #467 Order
of Eastern Stars and Roberta
Masonic Lodge #202 will be hav
ing their first Miss Willing
Worker pageant. Ages: 4-8 & 9-13
(Girls Only) For this pageant each
child will be asked to raise as much
money as she can. There will a 1st,
2nd, & 3rd place prize for each age
group. Other prizes will also be
given. The pageant will be held on
January 18, 2014. Deadline for
entry will be October 11,2013. If

the parking lot of the Bibb County
Health Department complex, which
