Driver Services Commissioner announces November/December holiday hours Crawford County Sheriff’s Arrest Reports Department of Driver Services (DDS) Commis sioner Rob Mikell an nounced today the up coming holiday hours for driver licensing and testing customer service centers and administrative offices statewide. (Please see the schedule below). In addition, Commissioner Mikell offered some helpful advice for customers who need licenses or IDs during this busy time. “Best wish es to everyone for a safe and happy holiday season! Please help us make your visit to DDS a good expe rience by following these simple suggestions.” Tips for a Successful Driver Services Visit •Plan ahead! •Visit the DDS website at www.dds.ga.gov for com plete location and hours of service information. •Tuesday is always the bus iest day during the week. Wednesday or Thursday Still in need of a hunter education course before deer season is over? The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wild- afternoons are the best time to plan a visit. •Any day before or after a holiday closing is a very busy day. •Proof of identity, residen cy and social security num ber is required for anyone renewing or obtaining a driver’s license or ID as required by the Federal Real ID Act. Before visiting our offices, please review the new document require ments at www.dds.ga.gov. •Skip a Trip! Check for many online services at www.dds.ga.gov such as initiating a change of address, replacing a lost li cense, payment of citations and license suspension/re instatement information. DDS Holiday Schedule November All DDS Customer Service Centers and administra tive offices will be closed Thursday, November 28th through Friday, Novem- life Resources Division offers an 8-hour online or CD course followed by a 2-hour review or the 10- hour traditional classroom ber 29th for Thanksgiving Holidays. Centers with Saturday operating hours will reopen Saturday, November 30th. However, walk-in road tests will not be given on Saturday, No vember 30th or Tuesday, December 3rd in efforts to manage customer wait times. December A11 DDS Customer Service Centers and administra tive offices will be closed Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday December 25th for holidays. Lehane So many thanks, Each year I try to make a mental list of the many people and things, items or personalities I am thank ful for to have touched my life. My job is one of those things. The city of Roberta and the many who reside, work, have businesses, educate, and ah the city government who have one of the hardest jobs, inclu sive of our mayor, clerks, council, police department and one could never forget the city work crew. To continue on the same thought, our county from the commissioners to Cummings, Joseph Hinton, 34, failure to appear-felony; Elam, Destrea Jaquee, 33, no drivers license, speeding 13-19 miles over speed limit; Fuller, Brandon Nicholas, 20, housed for Peach County; Harris, Quatavin Yamond, 24, burglary, theft by taking -felony; Jackson, Dorothy Denise, 36, disorderly conduct; Jackson, Pamela Michelle, 43, each of the departments providing services, some un-noticed but all allowing our county’s safety, quality of life, and services pro vided that perhaps are not recognized. Public safety, MGA our ambulance service, our vol unteer firefighters, EMA, our law enforcement (both city and county are folks that until they are needed are not seen and then often thanked when they answer calls for help on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis. Education and all the per sonnel required to educate our children from the su- perintendant and the board office and its board mem bers, principals and their staff (teachers and coaches, offices) and those in main tenance and housekeeping along with our bus drivers. It truly takes a village to educate our children. Then there is ah the busi ness and industry in this county. Each business or store fronts in operation to include the many eateries and catering offered in this county. A11 the people who are always interested in investing in this county or preserving this county, looking around there are so many. It gives those a chance while looking for employment to dress for success. If a person sud denly finds themselves in dire straights Hope Chest offers a place to go for needed food stuffs and other items to ease in the personal disasters. Kiwanis, Lions, Church Groups, Masons and East ern Star, Wounded Veter ans and the like are organi zations in our county that give to those in need. But the best is when something big happens the whole county comes together in peace and benevolence. I would say besides my family whom I particular ly am fond of, I and the board of the chamber have so much to be thankful for as each of our members sit down for the sumptu ous meal remember them silently or out loud. Like Us On facebook Proposed Amendment- Water Rate Fee Schedule The Crawford County Board of Commissioners is proposing an amendment to the County's water ordinance. The proposed change would increase the deposit fee charged fo a renter from $100.00 to $150.00.
