Our kindergarten class decorates a gingerbread man, our 1st grade dec orates a mitten, our 2nd grade decorates an angel, our 3rd grade decorates a snow man, our 4th grade decorates a star and our 5th grade decorates a tree. Each homeroom selects an ornament to represent their class and a winner from each grade level is selected by an outside judge. Each grade level winner receives a gift card from Toys R Us for $20. Every student at BES is then invited to place their ornament on the tree in our lobby. The students always love this time of the year. juNIOif SCHOOL SAFETY PATROL. The 26th Annual Perfor mance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana, will host the final round of the nation’s pre mier engine build competi tion for young automotive talent. It’s that time of year again, time for champion ships. The football teams are in full swing headed for state titles, but this is a different championship and it is for the national title. Peach County High School’s Automotive Program has not one, but two teams compet ing for the national engine builder’s championship. The teams had to win an event or beat a qualifying time of 35 minutes. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge build competition will hold its 2013 National Championship during Race Industry Week at the 26th Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, December 10-14,2013, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Peach County’s Royal Purple Team is the number two team in the nation going into this event with the younger Mr. Gasket team entering as a Wildcard team. Both teams put in countless hours of practice for this event. The Royal Purple Team members are Billy Tolbert, Hunter Willis, Wesley Tribble, Devan Smith and Preston Kersey. The Mr. Gasket Team members are Daniel Mayorquin, Kyle Windham, Caleb Carter, Dakota Ezell and Henry Staples. The alternate for both teams is Tyler Mossman. Their instructor is Johnny Rickerson. PC Hot Rodders Academic achievement Congratulation goes to Caitlyn Hicks for her recognition as an Outstanding Participant in the 2014 National Achieve ment Scholarship Program. This program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, is an academ ic competition established to honor Black American high school students. She was one of approximately 4,700 high school seniors who’s 2012 PSAT/NMSQT scores are among the top 3% of the students trying to qualify for the scholarship. Although she will not be considered for scholarship award, she has still earned the honor of excellence in academic achievement and exposure to over 1,500 colleges and universities. Kindergarten: Kaylin Young, Haley Smith, Carter Langford, Phoebe Perez and Victoria Byrd. First Grade: Jackson Ennis, Oliva Woolley, Luke Wood, Ma’Si- ya Sanders and Kaylyn Hornaday. Second grade: Julia Cabriales, Cam Randall, Kayleigh House, Grace Collier and Lauren Farrow. Third grade: Eliya Momin, Ralston Lester, Sidney Johnson, Sydney Gilbert and Kaden Odum. Fourth Grade: Savannah Atkinson, Carlyn Dominy, Anna Kate Tomlinson and Anthony Chen. Fifth grade: Jennifer Clowery, Jayden Smithberger, Tucker Morris and Caleb Johns.
