THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2021 THE GEORGIA POST 3 God’s unseen world The wonder and vastness of space with its planets, stars, and galaxies moving in clockwork precision inspired the Psalmist to write, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.” In the Psalmist’s day, the unseen world of the atom had not been discovered. The Coronavirus cannot be seen by the naked eye, yet this “invisible enemy” is approaching a worldwide death rate of two million people. Neither is the atom visible, yet its force de stroyed the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end World War II. Based on scientific research, we can say that the microcos- mic world of the atom is as infinite as the microcosmic world of the universe is endless. Everything is made of at oms—from the human body to a speck of dust. A No bel-prize winning physicist named Niels Bohr discov ered the internal structure of the atom in 1913. So small is the atom that a tiny drop let of water contains too billion-billion atoms. This unseen world is called the Quantum Realm. Its basic entity is the atom, which comprises a nucleus of pro- PONDERINGS Billy Powell tons (positive charges) and neutrons (neutral charges). Swirling around the nucle us at alarming speeds are electrons (negative charges), which circle its nucleus much like planets orbiting the sun. Only 36 subatomic particles have been discovered. Phys icists study such sub-atomic entities as quarks, leptons, neutrinos, bosons, hadrons, and me sons. The first verse in the Bible states that “God created the heavens and the earth.” In the beginning, the Creator set into motion the physical laws that govern how the universe functions. Einstein discovered one such law, namely E=MC2 which governs the conversion of mass to energy. Other poten tial discoveries lurk under man’s intellectual radar. For example, only 0.1 percent of the mass of the isotope Uranium-235 is converted to pure energy. This minuscule force released enough heat, wind, and fire to destroy hundreds of thousands of people in a single blast. When the bomb exploded over Hiroshima, Japan, hu mans at ‘ground zero’ were vaporized. Today, man has a choice. He can either destroy “Our Family Serving Your Family’’ McLeighton Funeral Service David & Donna McLeighton owners 375 S. If properly harnessed, nuclear power can drive automo biles, propel airplanes, send astronauts into space and enhance medical research and treatment. In fact, there are many other worthy pur poses for which the properly channeled power of the atom can be used. In 1945 atomic bombs were used to end World War II. Seventy-five years later, our world stands at the threshold of a golden age in which nuclear power can dramatically change our lives. Either, we can use this newly discovered power for worthy purposes or we can use it to destroy our world. The choice is left up to this country and the other na tions of the world. Intro to herd community Making a periodic ap pearance (by necessity), the Term “Herd Immunity has once again surfaced due to astronom ical threats of the COVID-19 Virus in 2020. The specific tag is not new to various bacteriolog ical authorities—in that the phrase was coined a century ago; which fol lowed observations of epidemics of small pox, mea sles, and such. The more refined points of such observation (and sequential immunity) gave sufficient proof that when a large part of a group (or population) gained sufficient antibodies (through infection or vac cination) to ward off infec tions ; the result was named simply “herd immunity”. ‘G' Factor Daniel W. Without extensive explanation at this juncture, the major part of the civilized world can readily un derstand that due to the lack of vaccine; or a wholesale infection of COVID-19, we are far below required numbers for a Herd Immunity. We are reminded that some where in the distant future, a reasonable protection will arrive to our corner. Since all aspects of the present virus are yet to be discovered; that date is projected as only “ beyond tomorrow”. Even with the positive values which are available, controversial issues remain with many institutions (a portion of which is within the Medical arena)—re liance upon any data or process which leans upon Herd Immunity, is normal ly discarded—or at least postponed. Some author ities even dismiss Herd Immunity as a viable asset —though enlarged obser vations indicate credibility. The steps of gradualism may prevent pertinent portrayals of progress. Two things are cer tain with COVED-19! First; we have been challenged beyond all definition-and secondly: Any relief from our present dilemma, is welcome with open arms; vaccination, herd immunity; or other. I’m going to try to share His truths with you. If I have heard wrongly, please forgive me. But these are the messages I 4 gathered from my dream - right or wrong. We are living within the genera tion which faces a tremendous spiritual war. We were specif ically mentioned in God’s Word. Are you ready to fight? I’m trying to get ready! But I’m also a little afraid. I’m not scared for myself, however. I’m afraid for our children and grandchildren. But I do admit I’m not as prepared as I should have been for this time. Most of us know and have memorized certain passages in the Bible. Children sang songs about marching in God’s Calvary. But of course, it might have been just a song? Or maybe not! There’s a line in a song that says “I may never march in the Cal vary.” While teaching that song in a preschool choir I once led, I didn’t believe we would one day be at war with our own people. Neither do I believe the man who will be inaugurat ed on January 20th will be successful in unifying us. We must stand up and fight for what’s right. But how do we do that? It certainly looks like a civil war among us. A war between the left and the right. Are you armored up? Foreign countries are watching and laughing. We did it to ourselves. We have allowed Satan to take a foothold in our country. We were warned against this in God’s Holy Word. Now we are paying the price. We can’t win through violence instilled on the innocent. This war began in our universities and col leges. The halls of dorms, in my dream, resembled a mob. The students were obviously afraid for their future. In the real world, students 4, Nancy Gibbs are being taught to turn to the left. Many are following the leading of their misin formed professors. The great American dream has now been overshad owed with hatred and violence. We are losing the war. It’s * time for the Chris tian to armor up for war. Beginning In Ephesians 6:14 we ; find these words. “Stand therefore, having put on the breastplate of righ teousness and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end...” (NKJV) The only way to win this war is to be suited up with God. We must seek Him to know what’s right. We must prepare our feet to go wherever He leads. We must take peace with us if at all possible. Faith in God must accompany us. Being saved puts us on the right side in this war. We must carry Gods Word with us at all times. We won’t always have the Bible in our hands; therefore it needs to live inside our heart. How are we to pray? Always! And notice we are even instructed to remain watchful to the end. Let’s go back to the chil dren’s song. The last line is “But I’m in the Lord’s Army.” Have you heard much on television about the Lord’s Army? I’m afraid I haven’t. If you call yourself a Christian it’s time to get suited up in God’s armor and get ready to fight. We are near the end. To start our preparation, let’s be not ashamed of the gospel, loyal to the faith, and strong in grace. And let’s preach the Word, informing others of this war before us. Let’s fight to win!
