Roberta’s City Election will be October 12th -16th,
October 18th - 23rd, and October 25th - 29th.
From 9-5 each day. It will take place in the Board
of Elections office at the CCGC. Election day will
be November 2nd and will take place at City Hall
in their conference room. Absentee ballots are
available upon request.

their and their children’s 55 cards, children’s birth
certificates, proof of income and a bill with their

CC Health Dept, closing to
move to temporary facility
Crawford County Health
Department will suspend
services to move staff and
equipment to a temporary
location while the current
health department building
is renovated and updat
ed. The move will begin
Wednesday, Oct. 6 and
services will be unavailable
through Friday, Oct. 8.
Services will resume at the
temporary location, 90 East
Agency St., Roberta, GA
31078, Monday, Oct. 11.
During the move to the
new building, health depart
ment services, including
COVID-19 vaccination, will
be suspended. Those in need
of COVID-19 vaccination
through public health are
welcome to visit any of the
vaccine sites across the dis
trict. Locations and times for
vaccination can be found on
NCHD’s COVID-19 vaccine
page.

Schools participate in suicide prevention
September was suicide prevention and CC Schools and the
schools featured Willie Raines and held assemblies. From left

2021-22 Youth Leadership has begun

Sixteen CCHS Juniors are benefiting
by being in Youth Leadership 2021-
2022. They began the school year with
trisp to see how the Board of Education,
Crawford County Government, and City
Government work to provide Crawford
County with schools, services and how
they serve Crawford County.
Though the city office was shut down,
students were given the opportunity to
see what is unique about the city and
what it has to offer. Realizing the city of
Roberta, celebrated the 100th birthday in
2010, the town is the hub of the county.
Roberta is the home of the Crawford
County School system. Roberta is where
the shops, medical facilities, water and
sewage and all that provides a hub of ex
citement, hometown atmosphere, places
to shop and eat.
Roberta has its own governing body as
mayor and council, police department,
town residents as well as all the educa
tional buildings inside the city limits.

Roberta has a Health Department,
Crawford Family Medicine and CareCon-
nect for all medical needs unless you are
to be transported by ambulance. Com
munity Ambulance is located in the city
to aid in emergency in city and county
to provide ambulance transport to area
hospitals.
Crawford County Government, provides
services to county and city. Crawford
Count Manager Fabian Hollis and Deputy
Manager Sharon Sanders assured the stu
dents the many departments like roads,
maintenance, planning and zoning, asses
sor’s office, tax and tags, Election Board,
Crawford Fire and rescue, Emergency
Management, and Commissions office.
Each of those departments offer a service
for all residents in Crawford County while
the city serves the residents of the city.
Tour of the old County Jail was one of
the highlights. Sheriff Lewis Walker
spoke with the students on law enforce
ment and the dedication of many on his
staff. Explanation of a law enforcement
on a personal level said the police are
good people trying to assure their safety
and all in the county.
Ryan Johnson, Clerk of the Superior
Court and Roberta Judge Brian Causey
who is an attorney at Mincey and Sher
lock told about the law and Judicial de
partments of the county and city howev
er, providing a great deal of information
to the students on what a courtroom and
preceding mean to those in courtroom
during trials.
Judge Causey, as the City’s Judge is
mandated for city issues and he is able to
refer them to other courts. Causey does
not have a jury and he noted he has many
