Crawford County Farm Bureau wins state award
Crawford County Farm Bureau Board Members and their families attended the 84th Annu
al Georgia Farm Bureau Convention in Jekyll Island where the county was recognized for
winning the State McKemie Award for small counties. The State McKemie Award recognizes
overall excellence in a county Farm Bureau and is the highest honor a county Farm Bureau
can receive. The award honors Mr. W. J. McKemie, one of GFB’s past state presidents.
During the Annual Convention, Crawford County Farm Bureau was also recognized for win
ning both the Legislative Committee McKemie Award and the Promotion & Education Com
mittee Award in District. The county Farm Bureau was also acknowledged for meeting their
quota in membership. Your membership is very important on the county and state level- it is
what helps fund both the county and state’s outreach activities and events to promote agri
culture. If you are not a member, please contact Crawford County Farm Bureau at 478-836-
3160 and ask to speak to Stephanie today to get started and put to use the many benefits
that come along with the membership! Pictured right Georgia Farm Bureau President Tom

made crocheted caps and
jewelry for the kids.
Katie Jones, organizer, says
Kids Yule Love would not be
possible without the love and
support of the community.
Each child received a Bible,
clothing, gifts, and toys.
Most of all, Jones said, each
child was shown that they
are special. “No child should
have to do without on Christ
mas. Thankfully, we have a
lot of people who have big
hearts in our community,”
said Clay and Katie Jones,
Directors of Kids Yule Love,
Crawford.
KLY relies solely on dona
tions. Katie said, “I used to
worry whenever we become
low on supplies but I have
learned to have faith. This
year, I was shopping with
my son-in-law for KYL gifts.
He was concerned because
the KYL account was low. I
told him that when he sees
me worry that he can then
worry.”
She continued, “As long
as we have faith, pray and
do the right thing, God will
provide. A few minutes after
that conversation a lady
