I received a valentine on February
ii0f.ll. It. was a loving epistle writ
toil, as I suppose, by some fair baud
whose owner is a bright-eyed maiden
of sixteen summers or thereabouts,
with rosy lips, pearly white teeth,
iihcll-likc ears, etc.; in fact, a general
make up that would Inspire the poet's
song. Hot the dear orenl.iirc must
1m mistaken uh to whom she is writ
ing, for I Ain't Imagine how such a
lovely vision could makeup her mind
to love such an old, ugly, gray-lmired
loot bless specimen of I he //anus himm

prised and, at. the same lime, elated
at receiving miicIi a loving epistle at,

and Airs. Regular said she didn't cuv

Stunner will let mo know her full
“intltloinnnts” I will be more than
pleased mid henceforth would dor

iM.u'on, Alnroh 14.—My wife, who
lias boon the subject of much interest
for weeks, is now in n mote hopeful
condition. Klin now Ims very slight
fevers only about eight hours in the
t wenty-four, which grow less every
day. She is now nlilo to take nour
ishments. While there is fever
enough to continue her sufferings to
sonic extent, It is quite n rest after
having unbroken fever for five
months.
I shall feel under lasting obliga
tions to the good peoplo of my
charge who so kindly released me
from my pulpit to come and serve
my sick; who also tendered me all nec
essary help in this dark hour. We
did not move my sick wife to Macon
to seek friends and comfort because
we hud all that, among our people.
We moved her hoping the change
would be a benefit to her, which I
now tldnk was u mistake; but too
Into to undo what has been done.
We hope soon to be able to return
and l>c welt and happy Again.
