Itow at a Party.
Qcn.c, Oetolfer 8.—lvitations were
sent but yesterday by Mr J. W.
McKinney for tho young people to
attend a party at his house in tho
River Bend neighborhood last niglit.
There were seven girls mid about
forty boys who accepted (lie invita
tion and were present.
All enjoyed themselves •splendidly
until Mr. MuKinnoy’s sno came and
kiekou up a row will) a voting man
who was present, and not being satis
fied raised a fuss with another and
wanted to light everybody on the
place.
Mr McKinney, aftet some lime,
succeeded in quieting his son mid
getting him into the house; but not
until after hi Imd received a blow in
tile month' which relieved him of sev
oral teeth.
Tho occurrence is very much re
gretted by tlie young man’s father.
It seems as if tho young people of
liner Jletid wili have either to give
up having parties or appoint n mar
