Dr. Edward Burton McDowell
gave sne of the most instructive en
tertainments Friday evening last
that has yet been in the school au
ditorium. He gave some very good
motion pictures shorting the manner
in which the Panama canal is being
dug. He also gave some pictures
showing the improvements and
Americanizing which Uncle Sam is
carrying on in Panama. An unusually
small Lyceum crowd was out. The
last entertainment of the course
will be given this evening.
The show advertised for Buster
Brown and his dog Tige, at Robert
son’s Electric Theater, Monday
night, was crowded out. The thea
ter was overflowed to the sidewalk,
and the show was adjourned to the
courtrbom, but here it was found it
would require some time to remove
the electric piano, and the show was
postponed until Tuesday afternoon,
when a special matinee was held for
children, and Tuesday night, when
the grown people wert. given an
opportunity. Both were largely
attended and the performance were
very satisfactory to those present.

Concerning Mr. Boone, the Macon

“The clarity of his voice which
gained for him his first recognition
has been preserved in all its beauty,
but in addition his method has be
come so artistic that his interpreta

true.
“There is remarkable delicacy in
treatment, but he is not lacking in
force, he is melodic. His one aim

bursts from the heart of the compo

of his own personality. He appears
merely as ‘one with a song'.”
