And where in shf.? Not by his side
Whose every want she loved to tend;
Nor o’er those valleys wandering wide
Where sweetly lost she < ft would wend
The form beloved, she marks no more —
Those scenes admired no more shall sec;
Those scenes are lov lv as before,
They are as fair— k but where is she'?
But ah! the house is not so f or,
Neglected most the garden b?;
‘The li'lies droop and wither there;
And seem to whimper —‘where is she 1 ?
The grave yard bears an added stone,
The fireside shows a vacant chair;
Here sadness dwells and weeps alone,
And death displays his banner there.
The life is gose—the breath is tl and.
And what has been, no more shall he;
The well known form and web ome tread
Oh! where a r e they —'and where is she?’

size and contains at least a
fourth more of reading matter
than any paper printed in Mil-j

approximating Session of the
Legislature, be issued twice a
week, at the very moderate|
price of three dollars per an

recommend it, to the republi
