level of the sea, is 1087 feet, Atlan

into the table, which we found filled
with good things and beautifully
decorated with evergreens and
flowers, and while we looked on the
beauties before us, we tried to do
justice to the occasion—eating.

Mr. Milton Bearden is very sick

Professor E. F. Shell conducted
an old fashioned fa-sa-la singing at
Bethel church last Sunday.
Air. S. P. Barnett has been quite
feeble for some months. He has
been confined to his bed some ofthe
time.

Stripling’s Chapel.

Airs. Latimer, wife of James AV.
and mother of George I. Latimer,
was burned to death on last Satur
day evening by falling in the fire.
She has been for several years sub-
jet to having fits and it is thought
by the family that she fed in the
fire while in a fit. There was no
one in the room at the time. She
was a good old woman. She was
seventy-five years old. Her re
mains were buried Sunday evening
at Stripling’s chapel. The bereaved
family have the sympathy of their
many friends.
