Wc had not gone far before wc discovered there was a serious mistake somewhere; it had either turned colder or we had gotten rid of our flannel too soon. It soon be came apparent that it was both. We felt sorry tor the pastor. He did net so cold, but we managed to keep him warm till wc reached the lios- 1 >itab!e home of Hon. J. J. Deunard where we spent the night. Wc faired sumptuously in that good old country home. Mr. Pemiard and ii is good wife know just how to make you feel at home. He is only a successful turpentine operator bill rii extensive and successful farmer also. Where you see bales of cotton by the dozen lying around the giuhouse at this season of the year as we saw at Mr. Dcnnard's ginhouse it means a surplus some where But we were going on t'll about our trip and the weather. Saturday morning revealed a blue sky, not a cloud to be seen, but oh how cold, and how the wind did blow. Wc borrowed an over o< iil for oilr elf from Mr. Deunard. (uul again wc felt sorry for the pas ta') and managed to keep comforta ble the rest of the way. We have not returned that overcoat yet for we intend to heed that old maxim ' l! BiUdv: •Never go awav from ■ without your umbrella and overcoat." A much better crowd than was expected on account of llie weather had already assembled there and the meeting was in progress. Various subjects were discussed till the hour for preaching arrived. By this time our pastor had thoroughly thawd for we thought we had never heard him preach better. After preaching din ner was spread and there was lots of it too. of everything that’s good. It is needless to say we did ample jus lice'to the dinner all who know ns can testify tl:nt where duty calls we always go—if it is to a good meal. But the funniest tiling; everybody knows Bro. T. it.
