THE CGORDELE DISPATCH, SUNPAY, MAY 14, 1916,
$25 in Gold
To the Winners in This
- Contest
For the profit of the live advertser
and for the amusement of those who
engage in the contest represented in
this page the Dispatch has arranged
« a series of ten pages—cne each Sun
day for ten consecutive Sundays—in
which questions will be put for you
to answer—not hard ones. You will
be required to put missing letters to
gether and arrange them so as to spell
the name of some business man repre
sented among those advertising on
this page and the business he does.
One letter will be taken from each
~ advertisément somewhere until enough
have been removed from the entirq
page to spell the name and business
of the firm selected. For example,
“John Jones, Banker.” A blank at the
foot of the column is to be filled in
with the name you make out of the
missing letters.
In addition to this the contestant
will find six sets of three questions to
be answered in categorical style.
These will always be on the Bible,
world history, geography, Georgia,
current events, and your home town.
But the questions will be changed in
each page and they will be new each
time,—but not hard and always short.
The person turning in highest num
ber of correct answers will get ten
dollars in gold. The person turn
ing in the next highest number
of correct answers will get five dollars"
in gold each. The next four with the
highest number of correct answers
will get $2.50 each in gold.
It costs nothing to enter. Be sure to
start with the first issue. This will
give you better chance to win. But if
you :c\re a good one, you might enter
half way and then capture first prize.
It will be the business of the Dis
patch to see that fairness prevails
throughout, and to that end no per
son e.nployed by the Dispatch will be
allowed to compete in the contest. No
person employed by the Dispatch or
in an'j other way connected with the
paper knows any more about the ques
tions asked than you, for this infor
mation is not given even to an em
ployee. Nor will an employee of the
Dispatch know what firm name has
been pulled from the advertisements.
This will insure fairness.
Any person anywhere can become
a contestant. The answers must be
in the office of the Dispatch on Satur
day following the Sunday publication
of a contest page. Answers can be
mailed in or delivered by hand, but
they should be in an envelope marked
“Contest Department” and sealed. Com
_petent, disinterested judges will pass
on the answers submitted and an
nounce the awards at the end of the
contest. ' A
Get into the contest from the start
and enjoy if. You will find yourself en
tertained and better informed for the
work you have done and besides, you
will be well paid for your effort, It
does not cost you anything to enter,
