SAVING MADE EASY.
American Savings Bank Install a
Christmas Club.
By its adoption of the Christmas
Savings Club, the American Savings
Bank of this city has proven its right
to a place among the most progressive
banks of the country. This Club gives
everybody a chance to save regularly,
for the bank desires to encourage and
is willing to accept small amounts.
Even boys and girls are invited to be
come members, for it is a well-known
fact that the savings habit needs to be
fostered in this country. Once the
vouthful mind realizes how really easy
il is to save and how pleasant it is to
have money in bank, the saving habit
will become life long. -
Many men and women, whether
their incomes are large or small, find
it difficult to “get ahead” financially.
They postpene the time when they will
start saving to provide for the rainy
day because they never seem to have
enough money to start a bank account.
The Christmas Club is a great benefit
to the people in this way for they don’t
need any more capital to get started
than the first small payment, and, af
ter all, the start is the important
thing.
The Club opens weeks of Decem
ber 27 and runs for fifty weeks, s 0
that each member receives check in
time for Christmas shopping. When
payments are made regularly the
bank allows interest on the account,
which is always an encouragement to
saving.
A number of plans are offered and
members may sclect one or more of
them. In the uniform classes one may
pay 25c¢, 50c, $l.OO or §2.00 weekly, the
totals amounting respectively to
$12.50, $25.00, $50.00 and $lOO.OO.
Regular bank books are not neaded
in carrying the Christmas Club ac
counts. The American Savings Bank
is using a patented card system, in
which the record of payment is made
by punching cards. This not only
gives the depositor a receipt, but also
shows exactly how much has been
paid in to date, and does away with
any possibility of error.
This attractive method of saving
has proven most popular.
IF YOUR BACK HURTS OR BLAD
DER BOTHERS YOU, DRINK LOT
OF WATER.
When your Kidneys hurt and your
back feels sore, don’t get scared and
proceed to load your stomach with a
lot of drugs that excite the kidneys
and irritate the entire urinary tract.
Keep your kidneys clean like you keep
your howels clean, bl flushing them
with a mild, harmless salts which re
moves the body’s urinous waste and
stimulates them to their normal ac
tivity. The function of the kidneys
is to filter the blood. In 24 hours hey
strain from it 500 grains of acid and
waste, so we can readily understand
the vital importance of keeping the
kidneys active.
Drink lots of water—you can’t drink
too much; also get from any pharma
cist about four ounces of Jad Salts;
take a tablespoonful in a glass tf water
before breakfast each morning for a
few days and your kidneys will act
fine. This fantous salts is made from
the acid of grapes and lemon juices,
combiaed with lithia, and has been
used fos generations to clean and
stimulate clogged kidneys; also to
neutralize the acids in urine so it no
longer is a source of irritation, thus
ending bladder weakness.
Jad- Salts is inexpensive; cannot in
jure; makes a delightful effervescent
lithia-wateér drink which everyone
should take now and then to keep
their kidneys clean and active. Try
this, also keep op the water drinking,
and no doubt you will wonder what
became of your kidney trouble and
backache.
