winter season. He had sold all that
he possessed in Cordele and realized

could stand and he sent a. warning
to his friends to stay away from Ohio

he could arrange to find relief from
unaccustomed cold and hardships him
sel? he became a victim of pneumonia
and it proved fatal in short order.
Lawson was a well known carpen
ter in Cordele and had ben an employe
of the cily for twelve consecutive
vears. He had accumulated a home
and cther property here, before he
was persuaded by the smooth-tongued
labor agents to give it up and go to
Cincinnati. Now the glowing tales
of easy work and plenty of money,
iose their color in the light of the eye
opening which Lowson’s family and
friends have gaine(!v from his exper
ence s funheral was atended by sev
eral hundred of his friends here and
many who rode in automobiles and
other vehicles had the wheels decorat
ed with crepe.
