Part of the celebration will include a scrapbook of the club's history. The Commerce Club members will meet on Tuesday. Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Com merce Library to work on the scrapbook. Local contributions for the scrapbook would be appreciated. Members of the pub lic are welcome to come join the meeting. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PLANS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER MARCH 3 Jackson County Habitat for Humanity is hosting its annual fundraiser on March 3 at 7 p.m. at the Braselton Civic Center. The fundraiser is called “Ante Up,” and will include a casino night of fun and games, along with food. Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from this event directly benefit the local Habitat for Humanity chapter here in Jackson County. Habitat’s goal is to pro vide affordable housing for the workforce in Jackson County and make critical repairs for those in need. The Braselton Civic Center is located at 27 E. For more information, contact 513-262- 1172 or aalvey@jacksoncountyhfh.org JCSO PLANS FIREARMS SAFETY CLASS The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office will host a firearms safety class on March 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. This free event is open to citizens 21 years and older. Class size is limited to 30 participants. The course will cover firearms safety, basic firearms operation and handouts on Georgia Law. Participants are asked to bring a handgun and box of 50 target rounds for your caliber handgun. To register, visit JacksonCountySher- iff.us. Print out the application under the “forms” tab or pick up an application at the JCSO. Return completed applications to the sheriff’s office by 5 p.m. on March 15. CUB SCOUT PACK 282 HOSTING TOUCH A TRUCK Cub Scout Pack 282 will host “Touch a Truck” March 27 from 6-7 p.m. at West Jackson Elementary School at 391 East Jef ferson St. in Hoschton. “Join us for a fun night of getting up close and learning about different types of vehicles you may see in our community,” organizers said. JEFFERSON PLANS CIGARS, BOURBON AND MUSIC Jefferson will host “Cigars, Bourbon and Music” on March 31 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by calling 706-367-5754. The event includes table seating, one tast ing from each bourbon represented, a cigar rolling demonstration and two cigars, bour bon-themed hors d’oeuvres and music by King Daddy Polecats.
