Melvin was a member of Spring Place Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Lucille Adams; brothers, Du- rell Adams and Harold Dean Adams; and sis ters, Wynell Gustin and Dora Mae Tolbert. She enjoyed gar dening, golfing and traveling all over the country with her husband of nearly 59 years, Charles. She will be remembered for her quick wit and fierce love for her family and friends (and also her cat, Abby). She is survived by her loving husband Charles Collins; and her daughter, Deva Collins-Nash (Bill). She was the proud Nana to two granddaugh ters, Faura Nash Turner (Phillip) and Becca Nash. In addition to her parents, Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her sisters, Grace Cmmp, Alene Duncan and Wan da Haynes. Wilma was retired from Baker and Taylor of Commerce. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. Week of April 9-15 Dr. Milton James "Jim”Faulk Dr. Milton James “Jim” Faulk, 75, died on Wednesday, April 5,2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was bom on April 18, 1947, in Tulsa, Okla homa, the son of Milton Faulk and Virginia Bran di. Jim was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim is a Marine Corps Veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Jim graduated from the University of South Alabama, class of 1973. Following his graduation, Jim pur sued various careers, ranging from construction, business-ownership (of many kinds), and most re cently serving as a chief medical examiner before retiring. Additionally, he completed various post graduate degrees and certificates and earned sev eral PhDs. In 1986, Jim married the love of his life, Ber yl Prevost, and they are now reunited in heaven. Jim loved karaoke, drumming, oldies mu sic, cars, and his family and pets. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia, and his father, Milton. He is survived by four siblings, including his brother, Farry; three sisters, Nancy, Kathy and Judith; four children, Jennifer, Brandi, James and Olena; five grandchildren, Kaleb, Emma, Jayden, Hannah and Robert; great-granddaughter, Isabella; and many nieces and nephews. Week of April 9-15 Jack Benny Ferguson ATFANTA — Jack Benny Ferguson, 80, Atlan ta, formerly of Winder, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023. Jack was bom on July 27, 1942, in Winder. He was the son of the late Ralph and Fillie Fergu son. He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Elaine) Ferguson, Jefferson; two nephews, Greg and Joel Ferguson; and one special niece, Holly Johnson. Jack grew up in Winder. He graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 1960. He played on the 1960 Class A state championship baseball team. Jack was also the captain of the football team his senior year of high school. Jack graduated from Southern Technical Insti tute of Marietta in 1962. He worked a short time in Rome, then at FABRAP Architectural Firm in Atlanta where they held his job while he served six months in the National Guard as active duty. After completing seven years with the firm and earning his associate degree, he passed the board exam to become an architect. Next, Jack worked for Heery and Heery Architects for 26 years. Fastly, he was employed by Robert and Company as the director of architecture for 22 years. With a career in architecture that lasted over 53 years, he helped design buildings in several for eign countries including: Athens, Greece-Cairo, Egypt-Armon, Jordan, as well as others. Jack was a good listener, never boastful. He rare ly criticized anyone. Jack was a member of the First Christian Church of Winder.
