WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 2023 THE JACKSON HERALD PAGE 7A Jefferson PD Multiple thefts among recent Jefferson incidents Commerce PD Two cited for road rage incident in Commerce Officers with the Jefferson Po lice Department recently reported a number of theft incidents, includ ing: •theft by taking on Old Pender grass Rd. where a woman thought someone took a wallet from her purse while she was shopping at a store. •financial transaction card fraud on Georgia Bell Ave. where a wom an saw a charge on her account that she didn’t make. • theft by shoplifting on Old Pen dergrass Dr. where a woman report edly stole over $100 worth of mer chandise from a store. •theft by shoplifting on Syca more St. where a man was arrested after reportedly taking drinks and snacks from a store without paying for them. •theft by taking on Hwy. 129 where a woman reported her phone was missing after she left it in a restaurant bathroom. The following incidents were re cently reported by the Arcade Police Department: •animal complaint on Swann Rd. where a calf got out of its pasture. • simple battery-family violence; simple assault-family violence; and criminal trespass on Trotters Trace where a sheriff’s office deputy was called for a domestic dispute. The in cident occurred in the City of Arcade. • agency assist on Hightower Trail where officers accompanied code en forcement and a building inspector for a call about code violations. • suspicious incident on Rock Forge Ct. where a man said his neighbor told him someone was on his property. •welfare check on Athens Hwy. where officers checked on a man. •agency assist on Carlton Ct. where someone was taken to the hos pital after a possible overdose. • theft by taking on Trotters Ridge OTHER INCIDENTS Other recent incidents reported by the JPD included: •information on Bailey Dr. where a juvenile ran away, but was later found. • information on Lawrenceville St. where two people had an argument about one of them taking a vehicle and there were conflicting stories about a physical dispute. •two-vehicle accident with three injuries on Hwy. 129. Two people were transported to Northeast Geor gia Medical Center Gainesville after sustaining cuts on their arms and legs. One of the drivers also had a cut on their head and was checked by a med unit. •headlight violation and obstruc tion of officers on 1-85 where a man was arrested after fleeing from police during a traffic stop. • simple battery-domestic violence act on Academy Church Rd. where a man was arrested after reportedly Rd. where a woman took a “Kids at Play’’ yard sign. • suspicious incident on Arcade Park St. where an anonymous caller reported suspicious items located at the city park. •agency assist on Athens Hwy. where officers assisted the Jefferson Police Department during a traffic stop. • suspicious incident on Rock Forge Rd. where someone reported a suspicious person in a business lot. •suspicious incident on Hwy. 82 where a man parked at a business while waiting to service a cooler. •suspicious incident on Hwy. 129 where someone reported a driver in an old patrol vehicle was trying to stop vehicles. The driver denied that and said he was just trying to pass a slower car and waved at another driv er. •suspicious incident on Hwy. 129 where someone reported a man was pushing a woman during an argu ment. The man said the woman had hit him, but officers didn’t see any evidence of that. • two-vehicle wreck with one inju ry on 1-85. One person complained of head pain, but declined treatment. • information on Gordon St. where a woman said another woman ha rassed her and made crude comments. •report on Concord Rd. where a man saw two juveniles kicking at a dog. •criminal trespass on Epps St. where a man said his ex kicked a door, resulting in damage. The inci dent reportedly stemmed from a cus tody issue. •battery on Old Pendergrass Rd. where a woman was arrested after punching another woman during a dispute. •driving while unlicensed and no insurance on Jett Roberts Rd. where a woman was arrested during a traffic stop. waving his arms beside a truck. • criminal trespass on Athens Hwy. where a woman reported her barn door was open and items were moved. • suspicious incident on Athens Hwy. where a man said his house door was open when he returned home. •agency assist and 911 hangup on Athens Hwy. where a woman was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center after a hit and run and a second single-vehicle accident. The woman reportedly rear-ended another vehicle, then lost control of her vehi cle and struck an embankment. Offi cers found fentanyl and a pipe in the woman's vehicle and she admitted to smoking fentanyl with methamphet- amine before the wrecks. •agency assist on Nathaniel Dr. where a man was taken to the hos pital after he was having a hard time breathing. Two men were recently cited fol lowing a road rage incident in the City of Commerce. Officers with the Commerce Po lice Department were called for the disorderly conduct incident on Hwy. 59 at Hwy. 15. The complainant said another driver had been traveling aggressive ly, passed him and brake-checked him. He said he approached the oth er driver while holding a bat and the other driver pointed a pistol at him and threatened to shoot him. But when officers stopped the other driver, he had a different story. The other driver said he had passed the complainant’s vehicle and the complainant tail-gated him. He said the complainant approached his ve hicle while holding a bat and tapped on his window and asked him to get out and fight. He told officers he then held up his pistol and said “you can try.” He denied pointing the pis tol at the man. Both drivers were cited for disor derly conduct. OTHER INCIDENTS Other recent incidents reported by the CPD included: •warrant executed on Baugh St. where a woman was arrested for a warrant during a report of another crime. •damage to property on North Elm St. where a bank’s wall and window were damaged by a vehicle that accelerated out of a drive-thru line. • no insurance on North Broad St. where a man was cited during a traf fic stop. •criminal damage to property on Ila Rd. where damage was reported in a car wash bay. •possession of a controlled sub stance/marijuana; possession of drug-related objects; obstruction of law enforcement officers; and driving while license is suspended or revoked on Maysville Rd. where a woman was arrested after some one reported she’d fallen asleep at a gas pump. The woman reportedly attempted to swallow an unknown substance in a baggie during the in cident. She also reportedly resisted arrest. Officers later found a pipe and heroin, in addition to other drug-re lated items (spoons, straws and a sy ringe). The woman was checked by a med unit before being taken to jail. •criminal trespass on North Elm St. where a man was arrested after showing up at a place he’d been criminally trespassed from. The man said he was there to charge his phone. • warrant executed on Jefferson St. •financial transaction card fraud on Baugh St. where a man reported fraudulent activity on his EBT ac count. • lost/mislaid property on Ila Rd. where someone found a wallet with a white crystallized substance at a store. •disorderly conduct on Scott St. where two women got into a fight while one of them was trying to re trieve their belongings. •terroristic threats and acts on Steve Reynolds Industrial Pkwy. where an employee reportedly threatened to shoot a supervisor and everyone in the building. The em ployee’s access badge was revoked. • abandoned vehicle on Hwy. 441 where a vehicle was towed after it was left in the roadway. •driving while license is sus pended or revoked; laying drag or reckless conduct with an automo bile; and failure to maintain lane on Ila Rd. where a man was arrest ed during a traffic stop after laying drag. •theft by shoplifting on Ila Rd. where a store employee was cited after reportedly taking beer with paying and drinking it from a cof fee cup at work. He was also given a criminal trespass warning. •failure to maintain lane; open container of alcohol; and driving under the influence (DUI)-alcohol on Scott St. where a man was ar rested. No additional information was provided. Arcade PD Recent incidents reported in Arcade Arrests continued from 6A 19, earlier this year. WEST JACKSON •sexual battery on Ednaville Circle where a woman said she awoke to find a man fondling her. •animal complaint on Davis St. where a man said three dogs charged at him and chased him up his driveway. He said two of the dogs attempted to bite him. The man said he sustained a cut during the incident, possibly from a bite. •agency assist and dispute on Davenport Rd. where multiple family members reportedly ar gued and pushed each other. A pregnant woman was reported ly pushed during the incident. •damage to property on Da vis St. where a woman report edly struck a stop sign while attempting to make a left turn. •suspicious activity on Jack- son Trail Rd. where a man and a woman were reportedly found in a vehicle parked at night at Sells Mill Park. The man re portedly attempted to explain their presence at the location but “kept stuttering.” The re sponding deputy said he “knew what was happening” and told the two that they should “prob ably find better place to con duct their activities." •simple battery and fami ly violence on New Liberty Church Rd. where a woman said her boyfriend grabbed her leg and pulled her off a bed, causing her to hit the floor. The woman, who was reportedly intoxicated, said she didn’t not want to press charges. Ac cording to the incident report, the woman’s boyfriend report edly returned to the scene and denied pulling her off the bed. •possible overdose and de partment of family and chil dren’s services (DFACS) on Johnson Dr. where emergency medical services transported a woman to a hospital. Her son told a deputy that she’d done two eight balls of cocaine and taken Percocet and oxycodone over four days. •fraud on Ward Rd. where a man said someone created a $4,996 check using his busi ness information. The mon ey was reportedly deposited into the account of a Virginia woman. •simple battery and fami ly violence on Muscogee Dr. where a woman reportedly opened a door and struck her wife during an argument. The woman said she did not know her wife was on the other side of the door, while her wife alleged she struck her inten tionally. •criminal trespass on Lau rel Cove Dr. where vandalism was reported in a neighbor hood. •theft on Hwy. 332 where a woman said she believed her tag decals were stolen. She said she suspected her nephew of the theft. •information on Skelton Rd. where a man reported three juveniles at the front of his property. The juveniles told the responding deputy that someone had taken their bikes and thrown them in a creek in front of the man's property. •suspicious activity on Stoneview Dr. where a mail box was reportedly knocked over.
