WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2023 THE JACKSON HERALD PAGE 7A Commerce PD Suspicious incident reported at Commerce store Jefferson PD Recent incidents reported in Jefferson Officers with the Commerce Police Department were recent ly called for a suspicious inci dent at a convenience store. The incident was reported on Jefferson Street where a store employee reported a man visit ed the store and asked for food. She bought the man some food and he reportedly grabbed her hand and asked if she was the only one working at the store. He reportedly said to watch out when she was closing be cause he would be waiting for her. Officers returned later for the store’s closing time to ensure the woman was safe. OTHER INCIDENTS Other recent incidents report ed to the CPD included: • information report on Ridgeway Rd. where a woman reported an issue with her hus band’s ex. •headlight violation and driving under the influence (DUI)-alcohol on N. Broad The following incidents were recently reported by the Arcade Police Department: • theft by conversion on White Oak Trail where there was a dispute over a motor cycle. •aggravated assault; crim inal trespass: and simple assault on Hightower Trail where officers took a report on an assault that occurred earlier that day. •agency assist and suicide threat/attempt on Athens Hwy. where a man was taken to the hospital after complain ing of chest pain and heart fluttering. Officers had ini tially been called about a per son who was intoxicated and wanting to harm themselves. • information on Hightower St. where a man was arrested during a traffic stop. He admit ted to drinking and was arrested after a field sobriety test. • criminal damage to proper ty on S. Broad St. where a man reported damaged someone's phone during a dispute at a restaurant. • DUI on S. Elm St. where a man was arrested after he was found asleep in his vehicle. He admitted to driving and was ar rested after a field sobriety test. •information on Stark St. where a man with a medical history was treated by EMS af ter he was found not breathing. • failure to maintain lane and DUI-alcohol on Hwy. 441 where a woman was arrested during a traffic stop. She report ed appeared intoxicated and of ficers smelled alcohol. She was arrested after a field sobriety test. •information on Maysville Rd. where a man reported someone may have tried to steal Ct. where someone reported a possible probation and court order violation. •verbal dispute on S. Trot ters Way where juveniles had an argument and one of them pushed the other down. •failure to obey a traf fic-control device on Hwy. 129 where a person was cited during a traffic stop. •theft by receiving stolen property on Hwy. 129 where a vehicle tag had been reported as stolen in error. • civil matter on Rock Forge Ct. where someone wanted to retrieve belongings. • custody dispute on Hidden Oaks Trail where a man re ported a woman wouldn’t let their child go with him. •agency assist on Rambler items from his trailer. •theft by taking on Clayton St. where a woman reported an arrangement and bird feeder may have been stolen from a cemetery. •harassing communications on Terrace Ridge Dr. where a woman said her ex wouldn’t let her come and retrieve belong ings unless she came at a certain time. She also said her ex's fa ther contacted her despite being told not to. •criminal trespass on Forest Ave. where a woman reported her mailbox was damaged. • public drunkenness on Ho mer Rd. where a woman was arrested after someone reported she was being belligerent, curs ing and yelling around children at a store. Officers also smelled alcohol on her. • suspicious incident on Scott St. where a woman heard someone prop a ladder up on a residence and walk across the roof. Inn Rd. where officers were called for a suicide attempt/ threat. A juvenile was taken to the hospital for minor in juries. • suspicious incident on N. Trotters Way where a male may have been having a men tal episode and seeing things that weren’t there, • suspicious incident on N. Trotters Way where a health crisis unit completed an eval uation on a person. • suspicious incident on Hwy. 82 where a bike was abandoned at a store. • suspicious incident at Ar cade City Park where some one reported someone had a fire at the park and was play ing loud music, but officers didn't find anyone. The following incidents were recently reported by the Jefferson Police Department: •information on Tyler Cir. where police were called twice for disputes between family. One of the people involved said one of the fam ily members was off their medications and behaving strangely. •wanted person located on River Mist Cir. where offi cers arrested a woman at a residence. •no insurance on Hog Mountain Rd. where a vehi cle was towed during a traffic stop. •registration/license plate violation; driving under the influence (DUI)-refusal; and possession of an open con tainer of alcohol on Hwy. 129 where a man was arrest ed during a traffic stop. Of ficers smelled alcohol in the vehicle and arrested after a field sobriety test. •two-vehicle wreck with one injury on Hwy. 129. No one was transported to the hospital. •deposit account fraud on Old Pendergrass Rd. where a man reported someone tried to deposit a fraudulent check. •driving while unlicensed on Hwy. 129 where a man was arrested during a traffic stop. •information on Isaiah Dr. where three people had a ver bal dispute, •wanted person located on Athens St. where officers arrested a man at a conve nience store. •domestic dispute on Ad venture Trail where a man and woman argued and the woman planned to leave the residence. •family offense on Grey- stone Dr. where a man re ported a woman was yelling and irate. He also reported she had previously assaulted him. •entering auto on Hilltop Dr. where a man reported someone entered his vehicle and took firearms. •criminal trespass on Old Pendergrass Rd. where a man reported someone dam aged his vehicle windshield and hood with a rock. •driving while license is suspended or revoked on Lee St. where a man was arrested during a traffic stop. •domestic dispute on Coopers Hawk Ln. where someone reported a man and woman arguing. •no insurance (no address listed) where a woman was cited during a traffic stop. •driving while license is suspended on Boy Scout Trail where a woman was arrested during a traffic stop. •two-vehicle wreck with one injury on Hog Mountain Rd. No one was transported to the hospital. •information on Hwy. 129 where a woman report ed receiving a text message from someone who said they were a kidnapper. A little girl made a FaceTime call from the number. She said she was with her dad and hung up, but the complainant feared the girl had been kidnapped. •information on Banks Rd. where a man and woman had a verbal argument. •driving while license is suspended or revoked on Hwy. 129 where a woman was arrested following a ve hicle accident. •information on Soque Cir. where a juvenile was report ed misbehaving and scream ing. •possession of marijuana less than an ounce on Da mon Gause Bypass where a man was cited during a traffic stop. They smelled marijuana in the vehicle and later found the substance. The man fled as a deputy ap proached his residence be cause he reportedly had an outstanding arrest warrant. The deputy reported that the man “appeared OK as he was running from the residence.’’ •death investigation (non-murder) on Moons Bridge Rd. where a man was found bleeding from the head and not breathing. According to the incident report, a man who’d taken the deceased male to pick up his prescrip tions said he believed he had taken an Ambien, attempt ed to get up, fell and hit his head.
