Jefferson Community Theatre to present Nunsense Jefferson Community Theatre opens its produc tion of Nunsense II: The Second Coming on Fri day, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. The show is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals and will have additional perfor mances on Saturday, April 29. at 7:30 p.m. and a mat inee on Sunday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m. “Following up to Nun sense! The drawing will be on July 1 (Nicholson’s Indepen dence Day Festival). Tickets are available at the library and also at the Daisy Festival Library Booth. The quilt was made by the “Quilting Friends of the Harold S. Swindle Public Library.” All monies raised support the Children’s Summer Reading Program. Nicholson is hosting its 44th annual Daisy Festival on May 5-6. The Harold S. Swindle Public Library in Nicholson invites the community to visit their booth and enjoy the festiv ities. The event begins on Friday. May 5th (5-9 p.m.) and Saturday, May 6 (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.). Enjoy the parade, cakewalks, food, crafts, games, live music (including Georgia Red Clay) and more. Commerce library offers displays on Earth Day, puppies Children’s Librarian Brittney Warren waters the plants in the propagation project. There are two new dis plays for patrons at the Commerce Public Library. One has books on the up coming Earth Day, April 22, with topics such as recy cling and ways to take care of the Earth. There is also a small display on puppies to help celebrate the recent “hug your puppy” day. In the children's tower, the storywalk is “A Butterfly is Patient” by Diana Hutts Aston. In other news at the Com merce library: •The Commerce library’s annual plant swap will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. until noon. Patrons are invited to bring plants, bulbs or seeds to share with others. Master Gardener, Anne Shirley, will be present to answer gardening questions. A House Plant Propaga tion swap will be ongoing through April 22. There will also be a plant that will be raffled during the swap. •A representative from the Community Council on Aging will be answering questions about Medicare and SNAP benefits and offering enrollment assis tance on Monday, April 24, at 1 p.m. No registration is needed. •The library will be par ticipating in a Touch a Track event at Commerce City Hall on Tuesday. April 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Families with little ones will have the opportunity to explore a fire track, police car, tractors, PuRL, the pop-up rolling li brary and more. Treats such as whistles, stickers, plastic hats, popcorn and Kona ice will be available. •There will be an in formational meeting on Thursday, May 4. at 6 p.m. to introduce interested pa trons to a new Beekeepers Club at the library. Angel Abounader, Library Man ager, said she is “so excited to announce the formation of this club. Plans are being made now, but check back for more information.” •The adult writers’ group meets the first Tuesday of each Month. Amendments within Article 14 of the Unified Development Code to enforce new rules and regulations implemented by Georgia House Bill 1405, directly related to zoning procedures law.
