WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2023 THE JACKSON HERALD PAGE 7A Arcade PD Jefferson PD Recent incidents reported in Arcade The following incidents were recently reported by the Arcade Police Depart ment: • discharging firearms on Rock Forge Rd. where someone reported hear ing gunshots into the early morning hours. • suspicious incident on Athens Hwy. where some one saw someone on Face- book alleging possible child abuse. •harassing communica tions; terroristic threats and acts; and stalking on on Birch Ct. No additional in formation was given. • suspicious incident on Birch Ct. where someone reported a suspicious per son. but officers didn’t find anyone on the scene. •agency assist on Athens Flwy. where officers used equipment to help process tools recovered at the scene of a burglary in Floschton. • suspicious incident on Park St. where two females were parked at a closed park. • suspicious incident on Hwy. 129 where a woman was stranded and officers gave her a courtesy ride. •agency assist on Hwy. 129 where officers assisted the Georgia State Patrol by transporting a driving under the influence (DUI) suspect to jail. •verbal dispute on Carl ton Ct. where a woman agreed to go to the hospital for a mental health evalua tion after reportedly yelling and lying in the roadway. •agency assist on Swann Rd. where officers assisted the Jackson County Sher iff's Office in looking for a vehicle involved in a hit- and-run, but they weren’t able to locate the vehicle. •agency assist on Rock Forge Rd. where EMS as sisted a woman during a med call. Recent incidents reported by Jefferson PD The following incidents were recently reported by the Jefferson Police Depart ment: •two-vehicle wreck with two injuries on Hwy. 129 where one person was tak en to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville alter a two-vehicle collision. • lost/stolen tag on Galilee Church Rd. •information on Storey St. where a man was given a criminal trespass warn ing at a residence after showing up unan nounced. •criminal trespass on Fairlane Dr. where a man reported a damaged mail box. •information on Tyler Cir. where a man and woman reported an issue with a landlord, who they said was hostile. •driving under the influence (DUI) on Jett Roberts Rd. where a man was arrested after reportedly running off the roadway and striking multiple parked vehicles. The man reportedly smelled of alcohol and was arrested after a held sobriety test. •driving while unlicensed; no regis tration; no insurance; and possession of marijuana less than an ounce on Hwy. 129 where a man was arrested during a traffic stop. Officers smelled marijuana in the vehicle and later found the sub stance. • harassment on Evergreen Way where neighbors had an ongoing dispute. • criminal trespass on Lee St. where a man was given a criminal trespass warn ing alter reportedly being loud and curs ing at a woman in a store. • theft by taking on Hog Mountain Rd. where a woman reported her vehicle was taken. • criminal trespass on Hwy. 129 where a woman was given a criminal trespass warning after reportedly refusing to leave a hotel. Commerce PD Recent incidents reported in The following incidents were recently reported by the Commerce Police De partment: •civil matter on Manor Ct. where a woman reported an issue with a landlord. •damage to property on Victoria St. where a man said his vehicle was dam aged by a golf ball. •information on North Broad St. where a man said his daughter got sick after eating a bag of Pringles they bought at a store. The bottom of the Pringles can had been cut and there was a storage con tainer inside the can. •information on North Elm St. where a woman thought her vehicle may have collided with another vehicle, but the oth er driver left the scene. • loitering or prowling and possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes on Arlington Ln. where a man was arrested after a disturbance stemming from a re cent murder. Two men reportedly went to a residence looking for the person of interest (that person has since been ar rested and charged for the murder). One of them also reportedly left a firearm in someone’s bushes. One man was arrest ed and officers planned to take out a war rant on the other man. •driving under the influence (drugs)- Commerce less safe: reckless driving; and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer on South Broad St. where a man fled in a ve hicle after a call about suspicious activity. Officers suspected the man was under the influence. •identity theft fraud on Willoughby Homes where a woman said someone purchased a vehicle in her name and she later received a toll bill. •recovered stolen motor vehicle on Maysville Rd. where a vehicle that had been stolen out of New York was found. • information on Ridgeway Rd. where a woman reported antique trains were missing. JCSO continued from 6A Marshall Clark Rd. where a man, who reportedly has a history of mental issues, said someone working on the property is killing trees. •entering an automo bile on Manor Lake Circle where a woman said some one broke her vehicle’s pas senger window and stole a backpack from the vehicle. •reckless driving on Hwy. 124 where a man said a driver pulled through a parking spot at a supermar ket, struck his vehicle and drug it about six feet. The driver reportedly begged the man not to call law en forcement because he was drunk and a habitual of fender. The driver reported ly left the scene, leaving his identification behind. •locked vehicle on Salt Lake Lane where a toddler was reportedly locked in side a car. Fire personnel used a lock kit to open the vehicle, and the child was deemed OK by personnel on the scene. •entering an automobile on Davenport Rd. where a man said someone took approximately $400 worth of tools from his truck. The man also said someone en tered his car and took some change and envelopes that contained bills. •theft on Lewis Braselton Blvd. where a man reported several tools missing from his shop. The man said someone came by his shop to talk with him, accom panied by an individual he did not know. He said video footage showed the other individual remove several drills and a diagnostic com puter and put them in the vehicle of the man who’d come by to talk. •damage to a vehicle on Guy Maddox Rd. where a woman said her car was vandalized while left at a shop for an extended peri od for repairs. The woman said she’d been unable to reach the shop owner since May 1, so she went to the shop to check on the vehi cle. She said someone cut out the car’s wiring and removed part of the motor. She estimated the cost of repairs at $3,000. •entering an automobile on Charlie Cooper Rd. where a man said someone stole his Ruger pistol from his vehicle. •theft on Pocket Rd. where a man said someone stole his utility trailer while parked at his son’s house, •theft on Tom White Rd. where someone attempt ed to load 21 rolls of TPO membrane into a trailer and steal them. The theft was reportedly unsuccessful, as the trailer was stuck in mud. •suspicious activity on Hwy. 124 where two small children were reportedly left unattended in a super market parking lot. The children’s mother report edly returned to the vehicle while a deputy was en route to the location.
