JCSO - Incidents
Man struck while walking on I-85
A man was recently trans
ported to the hospital after
he was struck by a vehicle
while walking on the inter
state.
Jackson County Sheriff’s
Office deputies were called
to assist the Georgia State
Patrol after the wreck on
1-85 in the Commerce area
on Sept. 20.
A man reported he struck
another man who had been
walking in the middle of the
interstate.
The injured man was
taken to Northeast Georgia
Medical Center Gainesville.
Both southbound lanes
of the interstate were shut
down during the investiga
tion.

AFTER ALLEGEDLY

WOMAN’S MOUTH
A man was recently ar
rested after allegedly put
ting a gun down a woman’s
mouth multiple times.
JCSO deputies arrest
ed the man on charges of
battery-family violence
act; terroristic threats and
acts-felony; and aggravated
assault-family violence act
after a domestic incident on
Waterworks Road.
A woman said the man
had been drinking and al
legedly threw things and
choked her. He also al
legedly pulled her across
the room by her hair, forced
her to get a gun and put it in
her throat then in her moth
several times. The woman
was able to get her phone
and run.
The man was ultimate
ly found passed out in the
woods.

Center after running off the
road to avoid a deer.

ing in an area where chil
dren were playing.

tering auto on Toyota Way
where a woman was arrest
ed after reportedly driving
through a gate at a business.
She reportedly said she was
trying to run away from her
boyfriend, but she may have
been under the influence.

three people were arrested
while officers attempted
to serve a warrant. Offi
cers smelled marijuana in
the vehicle and later found
the substance, along with
a crystal-like substance.

a syringe.

Public Notice
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-131 the qualifying fees set for the
City of Pendergrass to fill three (3) council seats and the Mayor’s seat
in the upcoming election on November 7,2023 are as follows:
Mayor( incumbent-Nick Geiman) - $35.00
Council seat (incumbent-Gabriel Gomez) - $35.00
Council seat (incumbent-Willie Pittmon) - $35.00
Council seat (incumbent-Tara Underwood) - $35.00
Pursuant O.C.G.A. 21-2-132 Qualifying for the offices listed above
will begin on August 21th and end on August 23th at the City Hall
in Pendergrass. The address is 65 Smith Bridges St. Pendergrass Ga
30567. Hours of qualifying each day are from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Can
didates must be a Pendergrass resident for at least 2 years prior to the
election. The candidate must be 21 years of age, registered and quali
fied to vote in city elections. Each seat is for a term of 4 years.
The General Election will be held on November 7,2023.
