PARAMEDIC RELIEF FUND RAISES $20K AT TOURNAMENT
Jackson County Paramedic Relief Fund recently held its 15th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament. The event
was a great success, organizers said, and thanks to the sponsors, raised close to $20k this year. Year
to date in 2023, the JCPRF has dispersed over $15,000 in assistance to our county EMS personnel. The

for Commerce City Schools
and the Commerce Public
Library plans a week full of
events.
Special Library activities
are planned all week for
children and families be
ginning on Tuesday, Oct.
3, with a solar eclipse pro
gram at 11 a.m. Children
are asked to bring a shoebox
or cereal box for a craft that
day. On Wednesday, Oct. 4,
at 10:30 a.m., Children’s Li
brarian Brittney Warren will
be offering a special spooky
family story time. Then on
Thursday. Oct. 5, at 3 p.m.,
Kathy Church will be bring
ing creepy crawlies for
those interested in such crit
ters. On Friday, Oct. 6, there
will be a bunny petting zoo
for those who prefer fluffy
critters.
In other library news:
• Doughnuts with the
mayor will be held at the
Commerce Public Library
on Saturday morning, Oct.
14, at 8:30 a.m. This will
give people in the commu
nity the opportunity to ask
questions about the progress
of the city.
• Looking ahead, the
Commerce Library will be
closed on Monday, Oct. 9,
so that staff may attend con
tinuing education activities
at a regional library meeting
in Jefferson.
• The library will be host
ing the third pilot session
of Seasons of Song with
Evan Bush on October 10,
17 and 24 at 4 p.m. This
session is for kindergarten
and first graders. Spots are
still available, so call 706-
335-5946 to sign up.
• The Commerce Adult
writers group will meet
Tuesday, Oct. 3, at
10:30 a.m. Jill Ropers rec
ommends, “this program is
a great way to meet other
interesting writers who
will help inspire your own
story.”
•For parents and guard
ians looking for something
creative to do with their
children, Lego club meets
the first and third Satur
day of each month from
12-2 p.m.

Please take notice that the Arcade Planning Commission will con
duct a public hearing on October 17, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. and the
Arcade City Council will conduct a public hearing on November
13, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. on the following matters:
RZ-2023-01 Annexation and Zoning: Bull Investments, Inc. c/o
David Altman, by David Elder, applicant, Joe A. Ginn, property
owner, seeks annexation and C-2 (Highway Commercial) zoning
of part of Parcel 070/ 012K totaling + /- 3.32 acres located south
of Etheridge Road, north of Arcade Park Street, and east of U.S.
Highway 129. Existing zoning is A-2 (Agricultural Rural Farm
District) in unincorporated Jackson County. Proposed use: climate
controlled mini-storage facility.
CU-2023-01 Conditional Use: Bull Investments, Inc. c/o David
Altman, by David Elder, applicant, Joe A. Ginn, property owner,
seeks a conditional use permit for a self-service storage facility in
a proposed C-2 (Highway Commercial) zoning district on proper

The Arcade City Council will reconvene in regular session at 7:00
p.m. (or upon completion of public hearings) on November 13,

take place at Arcade City Hall, 3325 Athens Highway, Jefferson,
GA, 30549. The applications are on file in Arcade City Hall and are
