Sale of Land and Negroes, by Administrators
Executors, or Guardians, are required by lav
to be held on the first Tuesday in the month,
between the hours of ten in the forenoon and
three in the afternoon, at-tfie court-house in
the county in which the property is situated.
Notice of these sales most be given in a public
©azette/orfy days, previous to the day of sale.
Notice for the sale of Personal Property
must be given at least ten days previous to tho
day of sale.
Notice to Debtors and Creditors of an Estate,
mast be published forty days.
Notice that application will be made to the
Court of Ordinary for leave to sell Land or Ne
groes, must be published weekly for free month ?.
Citation for Letters of Administration must
be published one month— for Dismission from
Administration, monthly nix months—for Dis
mission from Guardianship, forty days.
Rules for Foreclosure of Mo r tgage mu.t be
published monthly for four months —for com
pelling titles from Executors or Administrators
where a bond has been given by the deceased,
the full space of three months.

according to these, the legal requirements, un
less otherwise ordered.
The Law of Newspapers.
1. Subscribers who do not give express no
tice to the contrary, ate considered as wishing
to continue their subscription.
2. If subscribers order the discontinuance
of their newspaper, the publisher may continue
to send them until all arrearages are paid.
3. If subscribers neglect or refuse to take
thir newspapers from the office to which they
arc directed, they are he'd respons ble until
they have settled the bills and ordered them
discontinued.
4. If subscribers remove to other places
without informing the publisher, and the news
papers are sent to the former direction, they
arc held responsible.
5. The courts have decided that refusing to
take newspapers from the office, or removing:
and leaving them uncalled for, is prima facie
evidence of intontional fraud.
0. The United States Courts havo also, re
peatedly decided,, that a Postmaster who neg
lects to perforin his duty of givintr reasonable
notice, as required by the Post Office Depart
ment, of the neglect of a person to tako from
the office newspapers addressed to him, rend
ers the PostTnaster liable to the publisher for
the subscription p. : ce.
