Leafcess Cacnot be Cured
by local applications as they cannot reach
1 the diseased portion of the ear. There is
i only one way to cure deafness, and that is
by constitutional remedies. Deafness is
’ caused by an inflamed condition of the
mucous lining <4 the Eustachian Tube.
When this tube is inflamed you have a
rumbling sound or imperfect hearing, and
I when it is entirely closed, deafness is
the result, and unless the inflammation
can be taken out and this tube restored to
its normal condition, hearing will be de
stroyed forever; nine cases out of ten are
caused by Catarrh, which is nothing but

Increaie th Money
The treasury apartment has recent I
]y issued a table of sfa’istics in refer- i
cnee to the money in circulation io the
Toitfd States, f-i a number o* years
past. It seems from tin. table that the
circii a'ion >1 mom ■. bus increased 50
percent i-ime 1 "*>. --. -I . little over
25 per cent, since 'he fir-t of July.
1 896 Th* etat'-mei t sb. a- That on
July 1, 1579 tl • m nut in circula
ti<;n was SBIB 631 < e.i. Jul y 1 1889,
$1 379 964 770, and n Apri; 1 1899
$1 927 846,942.
For the pa«t three y-ara in our bis
tory the figures show a remarkable in
crease in the money in circulation
On July 1 1896, the beginning of the
new year, the amount in circulation
was $1,509 725,200. By July 1, 1897,
it reached $1,646,028,246, On July 1,
1898, it was $1,843 435,749, an increase
for that year of $197,497 503, and at
the beginning of the present month it
was $1,927,846 942, an increase in the
nine months of the present fiscal year
of $85,411,193. The increase since
July 1, 1896, has been at the rate of
nearly half a million dollars fur each
business day, and during the past year
has averaged considerably more than
half a million dollars for each business
day. The per capita circulation on
April 1, 1899, was the largest shown at
that period of the year in the history
of our country. At that date it was,
according to the official statement ol
the treasury department, $25 45 per
capita, while that of April 1, 1898, was
$23 69; April 1, 1897, $23 01, and
April 1, 1896, s2l 53.
Another feature of great interest is
the increase in the amount of silver in
circulation since 1878, In 1888 there
was practically no silver in circulation.
It is estimated that at that time the
amount ol silver in circulation, mainly
on the Pacific coast, was $25,000,000,
The official figures show that on the
first of April, 1899, there was in circu
lation in silver in this country the
sum of $475,193,942. This is nearly
one-fourth of the entire amount of
money in circulation of all kinds.
It may be added that the increase
cold coin in circulation the past few
years has been remarkable. On April
1, 1896, the gold coin in circulation
was, according to treasury figures,
$445,612 256' on April 1, 1987, $517.-
127,757; on April 1, 1898,5582,120742
and on April 1, 18s9, $694,855,942.
These figures form a most interest
ing study to the business world.

REGARDLESS OF AGE
Tin" kidneys are responsible for more
sicki ess, suffering, and deaths than any
oth r • rgans of the body.
A majority of the ills afflicting people
today is traceable to kidney trouble. It
pervades all classes of society, in all cli
ipati - . regardless of age, sex or condition.
The mptoros ofkldney trouble are un
mistaka! : ■. each as rheumatism, neuralgia
sleeplessness, pain or dull ache in the back
a desire to urinate often day or night, pro
fuse or scanty supply.
Uric acid, or brick-dust deposit in urine
are signs of clogged kidneys, causing pois
oned and germ-filled blood. Sometimes
the heart acts badly, and tube casts (wast
ing of the kidneys) are found in the urine,
which if neglected will result in Bright’s
Disease, the most dangerous form of kid
ney trouble.
All these symptoms and conditions are
promptly removed under the influence of
Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root. It has a world
wide reputation for its wonderful cures of
the most distressing cases.
No one need be long without it as it is
so easy to get at any drug store at fifty
cents or one dollar. You can have aaam
pie bottle of this wonderful discovery,
Swamp-Root, and a book telling all about
it, both sent to you absolutely free by mail
